Goldees Barbecue - Fort Worth
Tim Noonen Goldees has been on the list for almost a year now and we finally got here. We arrived at about 8:00 am on a Saturday morning and there was about 50 people in line. Be prepared to wait. They have a pile of old chairs that customers can use, so if you dont bring your own, there is that.
Lets get to the food. It is the real deal. My son and I ordered a beef rib, 4 pork spare ribs, a pound of brisket, and a jalapeño cheddar sausage link. For sides, we ordered cheesy grits, beans, and potato salad.
Outstanding! I thought the star of the show was the pork spare ribs ... fall off the bone, but with texture and the flavor popped. There was hint of cumin and it was salty and sweet. Delicious!
I prefer the fat rendered out of my smoked meats as opposed to the wet fat. My son is the opposite. So, we were in heaven. Goldees gives you brisket that is half wet and half dry. I loved the dry end and my son loved the wet end.
As for the sides ... the grits were tasty, and the beans were yummy. I dont eat potato salad, but my son said it was good.
We also had the bread pudding and the banana pudding. Both were delicious.
Goldees is well worth the wait!!!
