Teine Samoa Casa Rio was extremely busy when we visited—on Friday evening, right after Christmas, with heavy tourist traffic and schools being out. We were originally waiting for a River Walk boat ride, but the line stretched to the street and would’ve been a 2+ hour wait, so we decided to dine instead.
This was our second visit, and the main reason we chose to come to the River Walk despite knowing it was peak season. Casa Rio quoted an approximately one-hour wait, but we received our text within 35–40 minutes, which was appreciated, given the crowds.
The service was professional and respectful, and the food arrived quickly once we were seated. I had tacos and enjoyed them. The flavors felt closer to the authentic Mexican food we were used to back in California, which has been harder to find locally, and is why we’d return again.
