1 /5 Misty Dickerson-Ayub: Mom wanted lunch, so we decided to try Boil City in Beaumont on Skaggs Drive. We arrived at 11:20 a.m., and although they told us they didn’t open for another 10 minutes, we waited patiently.
I ordered crab legs, lobster tails, and an order of boudin balls. My total was $83.04. I requested garlic butter lobster, but what came out was extremely spicy—so spicy that neither of us could eat it.
When we mentioned the issue, the manager attempted to “fix” it by simply rinsing the lobster in water and putting it back in the same bowl that still had spices in it. The lobster was also overcooked to the point that we couldn’t even cut it with a fork. Lobster is supposed to be delicate, and this was the complete opposite.
Unfortunately, this ended up being one of the most disappointing $80 meals I’ve ever purchased. We ended up stopping at Raising Cane’s on the way home just to actually eat.
Very frustrating experience, especially for the price.
