4 /5 Robert G.: We desperately need more variety and Brasas is bringing it to the RGV. I ordered the rotisserie chicken with three sides; fried plaintains, fries and mixed rice & beans. The chicken was tender, juicy and well seasoned. Their ajĂ, which is a traditional type of dipping sauce made with varying degrees of heat were delicious. I had the mild AjĂ Amarillo (yellow pepper) and the spicy AjĂ Rojo (red pepper), both were delicious and I dipped both my chicken and my fries in them. To drink, we had the chicha morada, a beverage made using purple corn, clove, cinnamon and lemon and the maracuyá or passion fruit. As someone who has had Peruvian before (and loves it!), this was an excellent and authentic experience. My one and only complaint was that they did not have picarones, a traditional Peruvian dessert, but the friendly chef stated he would eventually add it to the menu. I can’t wait, it’s one more thing to look forward to in addition to the amazing items they already offer.
