5 /5 Wendi the Wanderer: We visited Compadres Hill Country Cocina in Boerne that was an authentic and patriotic experience with great food. I tried the George Strait tacos, that were named after the country music legend after his visit to the restaurant, and my husband had the 3-pack birria tacos. The restaurant was busy but our food came out fast and fresh. During our visit, we saw multiple military members, law enforcement, and veterans come for lunch—many giving the chef and owner, a two time Iraq veteran, a big hug. This restaurant gets it right, not just with the food, but with the remarkable support to veterans, Purple Heart recipients, and Gold Star families.

5 /5 S M: My wife has been wanting to go there for a while. She likes watching the live videos of Chef Mark and the food looks amazing. Since I work 3rd shift I have to wait to go in on my days off. We went on Monday, Colombus Day 2025. We traveled to Boerne, Texas from Manor, Texas; east of Austin. This place DID NOT disappoint. We had the Hill Country Botana Platter and the Fideo. Beef and Chicken fajitas were tender and smokey with cheese, queso, quacamole. It all worked. Growing up with my grandmas fideo I know what tastes good to me and I am particular about my fideo. The fideo had great flavor and tasted excellent. We both loved it. Once the fajitas and the cheese quesadillas were gone we washed it all down the the nachos that were hiding underneath. Loved the platter concept. Great Tex-Mex food and flavor. Good portions. Good prices and good service. Overall the food was/is EXCELLENT. We are planning our next trip out there and I am planning on taking some time off to come in on a Saturday. BTW, she also wants to see the Christmas lights coming up this holiday season 2025 in downtown Boerne. If you like Tex-Mex foods and BBQ flavors, I highly recommend this place. It is a bit out of the way for us but definately worth the road trip through the Hill Country on a weekend.

3 /5 Bobby M. Holman: Overall this place was decent, I had the Queso & chips which were ok, the enchiladas were decent as well, the nachos were good just needed some tomatoes but the smoked chicken and beef that was on them was very good.

5 /5 Kelly Vidmer: I can’t rave about Compadres enough! Family owned, amazing service, and most importantly delicious food. I got the Fideo today(my favorite), and it never disappoints. They don’t have it every day, so you have to keep up with their fb page to catch it. I ordered to go at 11 AM, went to pick up 10 minutes later, and the place was already packed. Luckily, they asked to me if I ordered to go and so they let me bypass the line of people ordering. Thank you! I know they’ve blown up on social media(well deserved), but remember they are slammed constantly and may not always have time for pics and conversation. Get there early, let them show their love through the food, and enjoy the experience!
