4 /5 Rodrigo Sepulveda: We stopped by a place my Dad liked to visit when he was younger. Coopers BBQ in Junction TX. If there was a contest for best interior of an "Ole Texas BBQ, this place could sure enter the contest. The menu is on the wall, and you order at the counter. There is a display case on the left full of Texas Treats called Smoked Meats. As you slide your tray down the line you pick up your wares, and the pickles and onions. BBQ sauces are offered on a separate counter there are three to choose from, sweet tang, rojo, and Coopers Original. I tried all three, the sweet tang was my favorite. This was probably because I like the pronounced vinegar flavor and off-set of the sweet on the brisket. We both ordered the two meat and two sides plate, and a drink. Tea of course, Im in the heart of Texas !! Dad ordered his usual Brisket and Sausage and I did the same.
Brisket was tender, moist, and most important smokey. The. Sausage was juicy, flavorful and had a nice smoke flavor as well. The potato salad was on point with the mustard. The Cole slaw I could not eat, it was not fresh, and had a soggy feel. Plus, it was more watery than creamy. I ordered the Berry cobbler and Dad ordered the peach. Both were very good!! It was a great experience and we really liked sitting in a True Texas BBQ Joint.
