Cotton Patch Cafe - (Near Tyler, TX)

Garcia Miriam (Miss Miriam) 1st time here. We were greeted upon entrance. No wait to be seated. I had been wanting to come for months but my husband isnt a fan of pho aromas or the thin noodle texture. I personally was probably Vietnamese in another life. I can have Pho every day. I ordered the Steak Pho with a side of tendon. Husband ordered the Spicy Soup and he liked it a lot. He specially liked that noodles were much thicker and the broth flavored differently than Pho. My Pho bowl was great. 2 things that could be even better for us would be 1) spicier chili oil and 2) hotter and steamier broth. We love hot both flavorwise and temperature wise. Pricing is comparable to other Vietnamese restaurants in the area. They have beer which was a super plus for my husband. A lot of appetizer and other dish options, also a plus in my husbands case. Husband mentioned it would be nicer if it was more dim indoors and windows had blinds. I dont mind the brightness but do love intimate and dim places. Highly recommend for someone that wants to have a lot of Vietnamese options or someone who may not be ready to go to an only Pho restaurant

Nancy De La Garza This restaurant is one of my all time favorites in McAllen! The service is always incredible. They make you feel like a weekly regular even when its been a few months since youve gone by. Perfect for date night. Lunch with the girls. Business meetings. The ambience is cozy and upscale. Definitely worth trying if you havent done so already!

Bobbi Dickson So my boyfriend and I are at the Hotel across the street and we decided to go get some Smokehouse. I talked to the man who was behind the counter cutting the meat. My bf and I share foods so we can try more new foods. He got the ribs and chicken with the potato salad and pasta salad as sides and I got the brisket I’ve been craving and I was going to get the ham but he suggested turkey with pasta salad and bacon ranch pasta as the sides. His plate: He said the smoke flavor is there in both meats but you need the BBQ sauce for sure. He wasn’t a big fan of the pasta salad because it tastes like it’s vinegar and olive oil but he liked the potato salad and corn bread. My plate: The best thing out of everything is that turkey! It IS NOT dry and it’s fall apart good with that smoke flavor… it’s so good you don’t need BBQ sauce. The brisket was good and juicy and falling apart and that smoked flavor is in it but you still need BBQ sauce but it was REALLY good still. I liked the pasta salad personally minus the raw broccoli LoL and I didn’t care for my bacon ranch pasta but my boyfriend liked it. And I did like the corn bread it was just like jiffy. But between the staff and the food it’s a 5 star rating for me! I would love to go back just to get the turkey for sure! I’m so glad he recommended it to me.

Liset Garcia Love this place! Their sushi is one of the best I’ve tried. You get to customize your bowl and add all your favorite ingredients and you can see the cooks in motion as you go through the line. Amazing spot for a casual dinner.

Brian McSteen I looked up the best barbecue near me and this was a 4.7 rating which is pretty high. I asked what was good when I walked up and he told me everything. They were able to accept card and tap and I saw a picture of a steak of potato and green beans and that was a special so I decided to order that. They asked me how one of my steaks so I told them I wanted a medium. I received my food fairly quickly. I also had a tea which tasted pretty good and was made with filtered water, thankfully. When I received my steak, it was a ribeye as I posted in the photos here it was a little bit fatty, but it was extremely tender, and it was extremely juicy, and it was extremely delicious. I really enjoyed it. I recommend checking this spot out if you’re on your way up to San Antonio or on your way down to the valley or just passing through.
