Brian Santiago Youve got to try the French Quarter plate! What a delightful surprise it was to find a top notch etouffee in Denton, TX! The fish fry had a super tasty breading, and everything was well cooked. Will be back next time were in Denton.

Anthony McCool We like it. Pizza was good, all out of thick crust. How does that happen? Cool retro place. The jukebox works, bring dollars. See us on YouTube at Coolest Life.

The Cookshack - College Station

Ryan (CyrusDrake) Really good! In fact, it’s a contender for my favorite fried chicken in town. The only undecided winner so far is Mess Waffles. The Cookshack has a different vibe and feels more like a lunch or dinner spot, while Mess is the perfect breakfast place. Alright, who am I reviewing again? Right. The Cookshack has some great options, and my wife and I went for the Chicken & Waffles. I chose the hottest seasoning they had—pretty sure it was ghost pepper—and yeah, it was spicy but didn’t make me miserable. There was a lot of food, and it definitely filled us up. My wife got mac n cheese with hers and really enjoyed every bite. The cashier was nice and attentive. The atmosphere is great for a lunch or dinner date. Plus, they have large booths, which we really appreciate.

Just sayin’ Brandt “Tank” Awesome place! Great selection of fantastic beers! Amazing bratwurst and Chicago dog! And our server Tylor was not only attentive, informative, and accurate, but he has the voice of a late night soul-music radio host! Tylor was a phenomenal server. I will absolutely be back here again to sample more of these brews and dogs. Hope Tylor is our server again.

Casa Rio - San Antonio

Rating: 4 /5
Teine Samoa Casa Rio was extremely busy when we visited—on Friday evening, right after Christmas, with heavy tourist traffic and schools being out. We were originally waiting for a River Walk boat ride, but the line stretched to the street and would’ve been a 2+ hour wait, so we decided to dine instead. This was our second visit, and the main reason we chose to come to the River Walk despite knowing it was peak season. Casa Rio quoted an approximately one-hour wait, but we received our text within 35–40 minutes, which was appreciated, given the crowds. The service was professional and respectful, and the food arrived quickly once we were seated. I had tacos and enjoyed them. The flavors felt closer to the authentic Mexican food we were used to back in California, which has been harder to find locally, and is why we’d return again.

Just Jazzmine Such an inviting atmosphere!! Service was great, and food was delicious. There are live lobsters in a tank which you don’t see often anymore. Will definitely return to try more menu items. A bit on the pricier side, but worth it.
