Ryan Pertle Gotta pick up one of their world famous Bean and Beef burritos if youre stopping by. Best gas station food ever, better than some restaurants.

El Torito Restaurant - New Braunfels

Nelson Avila Jr. My mother treated me to breakfast about 10 days ago and I have to say that we really enjoyed our food. The dishes looked and tasted great. The coffee was really nice...it had cinnamon brewed into the coffee and that was a nice touch. I wont discount the reviews of others, but our experience was very nice. Ive included photos of the dishes we ordered to try out (plenty was taken home for later snacking). We will definitely be visiting El Torito again.

La Cantera Mexican Restaurant - Lockhart

jeremy edens This place knocked my socks off the first time I visited, so I had to return two weeks later to make sure it wasnt just a dream. Im from a small town, and I love small town restaurants. There is nothing like the kind friendly folks and atmosphere that can come with a genuine place that the locals flock to eat. That is not always the case, unfortunately. In this case, it is exactly what you expect. The service is friendly and knowledgeable. The atmosphere is cozy and makes you feel like home. Then, there is the food. All that stuff is great, but if the food is lackluster, its all a facade. La Cantera is the real McCoy. From the table salsa and chips to the entrees and sides, they nail classic Tex-Mex. I had a gordita plate with one shredded chicken and one groumd beef the first stop. My wife had the chicken enchiladas verde. All superb. Second trip I had the poco de todo. Yes, a little bit of everything, to check out a variety of items. Taco meat is seasoned so well, and the red enchilada sauce is smooth and packed with flavor. My wife had a chicken quesadilla which was large enough that I managed to get part of as well. My wife normally doesnt care too much for refritos and arroz, but these are so good, she ordered a side of each. Ill keep driving a half hour from the house to eat here as long as they are in business. The accolades and awards on the wall tell me that it will be for a long time. Maybe, Ill just move closer to Lockhart and become a local.

DarkKnight6644 This was our first time at El Patron and we were impressed by the atmosphere very warm and inviting. The service was excellent! The food was and delicious. The prices were more than fair we paid 50$ for a family of 4. Plus if you pay cash theres a 10% discount. We highly recommend El Patron to everyone!

Jason Echols Fantastic Italian surprise in small-town Texas. The food here is way better than you would ever expect from a little family spot right off the highway in Hamilton. The Alfredo sauce is rich, flavorful, and easily rivals big-city Italian restaurants, and the meatballs were tender, well-seasoned, and absolutely exceeded expectations. Portion sizes were generous, and everything came out hot and fresh. The decor is pretty basic and nothing fancy, but the quality of the food more than makes up for it. It feels like the kind of place you go for a great meal, not for Instagram photos. What really stands out is that it’s clearly family-run, and everyone was extremely friendly and welcoming. Service was attentive without being pushy, and it made for a perfect stop while charging at the nearby Tesla supercharger. Highly recommend stopping here if you’re passing through Hamilton and want a surprisingly great Italian meal.
