The Mill House - Lufkin

Rating: 4.5 /5
NateMFJ Weve now visited The Mill House in Lufkin twice, and both experiences were excellent! On our first visit, the service was outstanding--our server was incredibly attentive, polite, and made us feel welcome right away. The restaurant itself is beautiful and very clean. We actually felt a little underdressed when we walked in, but they treated us like we fit right in, even though we showed up in sweats. We started with the garlic dip, which was super garlicky, cheesy, and absolutely delicious--a must-try. My wife ordered the Mill House Pasta, which was rich, cheesy, and full of flavor, with perfectly cooked chicken and shrimp. I ordered a burger that was slightly on the dry side but still very tasty, and the truffle fries were fantastic--crispy, flavorful, and addictive. Overall, it was easily a 4.5-star visit with great service, great food, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. And we did go back-one week later-this time sitting at the bar. We both ordered cocktails, and the drinks were excellent. I had two different styles of Old Fashioneds and really enjoyed both. My wife had two martinis and loved them. For food, we tried the chicken Caesar wrap with fries, and my wife ordered the half sandwich and salad combo. The wrap was honestly one of the best Ive ever had--the chicken had a great char, and there was plenty of dressing. My wife really enjoyed her BLT; it had the perfect amount of bacon and was put together really well. At this point, I think weve found our new go-to spot in Downtown Lufkin. Cant wait to go back!

Michael Magnus The food here was delicious, with creative chef-inspired recipes and farm to table ingredients. I had the sweet potato enchiladas, which had an incredibly decadent sauce to it. My wife’s salad was very tasty, with some of the best goat cheese I’ve ever tasted. Definitely worth giving it a try.

Lish First time here. Blown away by the options and sizes. Got the small salad bowl but it was huge and two people could easily share. Toppings were fresh and plentiful. Staff were quick, attentive and friendly. By far my favorite thing was the Croissant! So fresh, airy and flavorful. Also try the lemonades - the peach was ah-mazing Plenty of seating and tables were clean.

John Sparks Came for the bacon wrapped burrito. But was blown away by the chicken soup (caldo de pollo) and the Tampiquena Plate. The soup is award winning (in my mind). The Tampiquena was phenomenal and left me with lots of leftovers to take home. You won’t be disappointed. For those looking for gluten free, I’m not sure they have a dedicated fryer for the chips. The server helped me to easily navigate the menu to find something that would work.. also, the freshly made corn tortillas are amazing.

Jennifer Kidd We just stopped here on our way back home to Dallas from our ranch in Pandale. We got 2 chicken meals & 6 tenders for our 3 King Charles Spaniels we’re traveling with. The staff was so super friendly… even packed us extra napkins & condiments, knowing we were traveling. Our chicken was DELICIOUS!! Fabulously fried and crispy, juicy meat that was cooked perfectly! Our dogs tenders were a smashing hit, as all 3 “woofed” them down! I tasted them beforehand and let me just tell you- they were awesome!! We will definitely stop here again, on future trips to our ranch!

Vishal Karsaliya We are from houston and i had to cone nearby for site visit business trip, got hungry and gave this try....this is so authentic & way way better then indepedent & franchise chains pizza i have had in houston. Very delicious. Also the service is like restaurenr for pizza place, the lady is so humble. She is retired and said the receipe was given by her friend from new york. The pizza place looks like red house, small place with good environment. Check out pizza photos. Also very cheap price.
