IDA MAE’S - (Near Waxahachie, TX)

Megan Sabljakovic We checked this place out for breakfast before heading home to Houston and very glad we did. We reserved a table earlier in the morning, but the wait was still short even if you just walked in. We ordered the classic beignets which were perfectly light & fluffy, the cafe au lait which was an excellent cup, along with the bananas foster pancakes, and the NOLA brunch plate. My husband loved the pancakes (which were a tad sweet for me personally, but were excellent nonetheless). The grits on my brunch plate were fantastic. Can’t wait to come back and try the crab omelette and a few other items. Service was great, too. We will definitely be back.

Maria Morrell We came in through the bar area for a lunch meal. They walked us back to the restaurant area to a booth. The atmosphere felt like a mix of sophisticated and casual. The service was fantastic and the food was so wonderful. I will be returning for their dinner menu sometime. We had the loaded BBQ potato with a Cesar salad, and the chicken noodle soup with a Brioche grilled cheese! Absolutely perfect. They have various different ice creams to try and some other desserts.

Ethan Wow. Best word to describe this place. Everything I have had here so far has been excellent. The first time in we tried the Wednesday special. It was chicken salad, pimento cheese, Greek pasta salad, and a cucumber sandwich. The cucumber sandwich was really really good. It’s simple but so effective. The chicken salad and pimento cheese had a really good flavor. We also tried a fried chicken sandwich and that was really good. Thursday we decided to come back and try the daily special and that burnt ends sandwich was super tasty. I would absolutely recommend it. We also tried a chicken caesar salad that was also really good. The coffee, tea, and desserts all sound good and the ones we tried proved that point. The ladies serving us were also really nice and upbeat. The place is bright and feels warm and welcoming. Definitely stop in if you are looking for uniqueness and someone that serves quality ingredients.

amy garcia Absolutely the best burgers. They are GIANT! Fries and onion rings are crispy and tasty. Our waitress was so sweet and kind enough to stand and talk with us for a bit. Its clean, I enjoy sitting on the dock. The view is the best as well.

Daphne Phenomenal food and experience. Our waitress was very attentive and kind. The burgers were delicious and the fries had wonderful seasoning. It was very charming in regards to the ambiance. I am surprised when we went it was very quiet and not many people there. The food is great and the service is excellent. We highly recommend!

Joella Hernandez I usually don’t go to Longhorn but my friend had went a couple weeks back and it looked so good I had to go! We started with the onion petals for appetizer. Omgosh so good! They were crispy and didn’t get soggy! For my plate I ordered a medium rare ribeye with Mac and cheese and a baked potato. My friend highly recommended the brussel sprouts but unfortunately they were out. I was pretty sad but when my plate came out I wasn’t sad anymore! The Mac and cheese was so creamy and cheesy. My steak was cooked and seasoned perfect and my baked potato was hot and came out exactly how I ordered it! Latrina was our waitress she was so kind and in such a good mood! It was busy and she had a big table next to us but she was still trying to be attentive! People need to be more patient when eating out! Even though she was busy she was still trying to be on top of our needs! I also liked that it wasn’t so loud that we could still have a conversation . We got there around 5:30 and got seated right away! But it was definitely busy when we were leaving! I saw a few not so good reviews so I’m glad we had a great experience!
