Intrinsic Smokehouse Brewery + BBQ Catering - (Near Garland, TX)

4 /5 Tom Zeller: Good beer and bbq. Sausage, turkey and brisket were all good though it may have been great if it were warmer. Sides were on point. Great deal on the platter. Beer was very good, I did a flight with various styles and settled in on the Treehouse Brown. Staff did a good job, but they could have been friendly on the bbq side. It wasnt that busy so that small effort can put a business over the top. Definitely would like to return, we are out of towners but frequent Dallas so we are always looking for places to brag on and frequent during our visits.

4 /5 Chase Cassillo: Very cool spot in Garland. Cute little area and the brewery and bbq has good vibes. The jalapeño cheddar sausage was excellent. Brisket was pretty tasty. The Mac and cheese was mid. But overall quality food. Not as good as some of the other barbecue spots in the area but it’s still good.

5 /5 Doc Strange: Sitting on the square in Downton Garland, TX, this casual barbecue restaurant serves up very good smoked meats. My group had the turkey, the ribs, and both lean and fatty brisket. All were delicious! They have delicious sides. I had the potato salad and mac and cheese, both were two full scoops (versus most places giving one scoop), and were delicious. The others also tried the corn nuggets and fried okra. Also very good!

2 /5 Mike Hashimoto: I got ribs, pulled pork, sausage, brisket and turkey platter. $48. Came with three sides. Sigh, I wanted to like this place so much. Unfortunately, the food was a solid two stars verging on one star. Granted maybe this just happened to be a one time thing. I received the platter and sat down immediately to stuff my face (yes, I intermittent fast). Everything was lukewarm or cool. Eating BBQ when it is cool is absolutely terrible due to the fat content. Nothing like taking a huge bite of congealed pulled pork. The ribs were end dry pieces (seriously when someone orders the largest platter you would think to give them the best pieces not the worst) see photo. The sausage was as dry as the Sahara desert, see photo. Thank goodness for the unlimited tap water to quench my thirst. The brisket was so cool I could barely stomach it. Pecan Lodge it is.

4 /5 Shannon Wertz: Food and beer was great. My other half loved the ribs. Staff could have been more pleasant (bartender didn’t greet us). Atmosphere was good, could have added some music or something. We walked around and went outside, cool view of the park across the street. Would love to give 5 stars, but a hello and welcome would have done it. Would go back! (Visited from Missouri)
