5 /5 Jason: My parents and I stopped by La Sombrita for lunch today. It was our first time visiting this restaurant and we were not disappointed. Overall, this was a highly enjoyable and satisfying experience.
FOOD QUALITY: We ordered a vegetarian breakfast burrito, ground beef burrito, and steak fajita burrito with two sides of refried beans. Beverages included two coffees and a Coke. (Note: There is no soda fountain, so soft drinks must be purchased by the can or bottle.) The tortillas and refried beans were homemade and fresh, and the entire meal itself was simply delicious.
SERVICE: Friendly, conscientious, and attentive. It is a small operation, and at the time of our visit, the cook, greeter, and waitress were all responsible at various times for performing various functions in the restaurant. It took about 10-15 minutes for us to receive our food, but I want to stress that this was simply due to the small number of people manning the restaurant and NOT to poor customer service. During that time, we were repeatedly checked on by the friendly staff, who apologized for the wait. And besides, the quality of the food was well worth the wait!
ATMOSPHERE: The inside of the restaurant is tidy, quaint, and homey. Orders are placed at the front counter after which customers who wish to dine in can find a table in the back room. Seating is limited. There are four small round tables each of which can seat 3-4 customer comfortably. However, the dining area is clean, intimate, and brightly lit with natural light. (Window blinds are available if needed.)
Overall, we had a 5/5 experience at La Sombrita. I invite newcomers to visit this restaurant where you will be warmly welcomed and treated to some of the areas tastiest food!
