Lupitas Place - (Near Fort Davis, TX)

Jed Allsup Been a while since I stopped in so thought I would check in. Ordered the Chicken Fried Steak with 3 vegetables ( I chose Mashed Potatoes, Fried Okra, and Baked Squash) special, ice tea, and came with choice of roll or cornbread. (I had both) Thought I would try brown gravy for a change as I like it on my Potatos normally or on a smothered Steak. CFS was cooked perfectly and seemed to be homade but was not as hot as I hoped but was at a perfect temp to scarf it down lol. Brown gravy was way too salty and also needed some black pepper. Mash potatoes were perfect and just lumpy enough to give a real potato taste. Okra was not as hot as am used too but it was at a temp to enjoy the entire bowl pretty quick. Baked squash was the only miss. It was kinda bready and sweet. I was hoping for bigger pieces of squash and more squash flavor. Roll was perfect! Buttery, Soft, warm, fluffy and delicious. Cornbread was just right sweetness but need more cornmeal and less flour as it was too bready for me. Overall great experience and server was great, fast and friendly. Will be back soon. I added pictures of the menu as the ones I could find were old.

Kristie W Ethan was our cashier and he was so friendly & helpful as this was our first visit. He suggested different things like the garlic bread & Im glad he did. I was having problems getting completing the survey and Ryan came over it for me. Mario & everyone that I came in contact with was sweet too. I got the Italian & hubby got the Turkey Bacon & Ranch! YUMMMMMMY on both accts! We both got larges & I will probably have it for 2/3 meals. The Subways in town and even Schlotzskys are gonna be in trouble. Experience was 1000/10!

John Garcia It was a really delicious breakfast. Me and my wife got a rosi torta with carne de milanesa,avocado, queso, jalapeño. That torta was HUGE. it came with fríes with cajun seasoning. It was great, everything was fresh and cooked to perfection. I will definitely become a regular. Side note there panadería on the side. 10/10, 5 stars, hola in the wall place.

Two Dollars Definitely a hidden gem! A place only the locals know of and now some non locals. We would have never found this place if it wasnt on The Daytrippers Rusk daytrip and we look for the local restaurants when we daytrip. Lunch specials are daily not just M-F. If you are not sure what to order, go for the Molcajete, which is what we ordered. It was enough for two people to share. The owner split the beans, rice, pico and guac onto 2 separate plates so we wouldnt fight over who ate more. The place is small, only about 12 tables, majority seating is 4 per table. Time your visit on an off hour. Even though we arrived at 12:30 pm there was 2 tables available. The service was prompt and we were checked on frequently. End your meal with their sopapillas, we only ordered the small size. My daughter insisted she didnt want any and proceeded to eat 2 of them when they were set on our table.

Stephanie Velekei Employees were friendly and helpful. Sushi was excellent and fresh. The fried rice may have been left out too long so I didnt eat much but saw they put fresh out before I left. I was too full to try it tho. Definitely go for the food! The building looks as though it could use a deep clean and a lot of the tables were not in use. It would have been nice to sit near the main road side of the building. The bathrooms are also in need of repair as i couldnt lock my stall door. There was no soap and the paper towels sitting on the counter had fallen into the wet sink so there was no way to dry my hands til i got back to my table.

Nelida Safrit We had dinner at Freddy’s. Got the bacon double. It was delicious! I love the thin fries they serve. I was too full to taste the custard. Maybe next time. Service was great. The restaurant was pretty empty.
