Macaroni Joes - (Near Amarillo, TX)

5 /5 Abdullah N.: The craving for delicious Italian food was met. Impeccable service and beautiful ambiance. We ordered the steak bites to start and continued with the surf and turf pasta and the blackened bayou pasta with meatballs. Cocktails were TOP NOTCH, had the seasonal menu, had to get a few martinis and mules. On top of it we had the best service from the waitress. Will be making this a regular evening out.

2 /5 Steven Beers: Update: Manager personally contacted me to apologize and make it right. We certainly appreciate the professionalism in owning the mistakes amd working to correct them. We will give it another visit soon. Very very disappointing visit and the only reason it got 2 stars was the food itself was very good. We had reservations for 7:30 and showed up at 7:20 and checked in and was told they were running a little behind might be 10 minutes before they could seat us. At 7:50 the manager came to us and said he was cleaning a table for us and would be another 2 or 3 minutes and disappeared. The hosteess mentioned they had other reservations that showed up late and they seated them which caused everyone else to be pushed... really why have reservations. It was another 15 minutes and not until I told the hostess I didnt like being lied to before we finally got seated. The reservation asked if special occasion and I filled in Anniversary. Never once did anyone mention that or even ask if there was a occasion. The waitress did her best but somehow we ordered drinks and about 7 minutes later we ordered our food. Another 10 minutes and our salad appeared but drinks took another almost 7 minutes. The manager walked by our table 4 times never once stopped to apologize or even ask how the food was, nothing after having talked to us in the lobby. They never told the waitress of our wait and the only apology we ever got was the hostess. Needless to say we will have to find another place to celebrate special occasions as Macaroni Joes, who wants to be considered an elegant higher end place, doesnt know how to make that happen.

5 /5 John V: Fantastic first experience of this honey hole. Excellent wide ranging menu light on the Italian influence expected. We can personally vouch for the Lasagna and the Chicken Picatta(not Pacatta). Both were some of the best to be had. I heard lots of praise for the fried green Tomatoes. I will say they looked better than any Ive ever seen elsewhere. The servers at the bar were entertaining and very active. They were also a great help in making our choices for dinner. Nice atmosphere that apparently has been in existence for the thirty to forty years I recommend and will return.

5 /5 John Colston: Came to Amarillo from Rogersville TN to watch my sister in law graduate with her masters and she got a reservation for 9 to Macaroni Joe’s… it was amazing! The bread was spot on and we ordered the kids Mac and cheese as an appetizer! So yummy. I had the lasagna and it was terrific! I live 18 hours away but if I ever come back this way I am making this a priority to stop again!! Thank you for making a special day even more special with great food!

5 /5 Bowles Chris “Conqueror”: My wife and I dont stop by Amarillo often but we had a opportunity to stop by for a quick appetizer while the restaurant was slow. (disclaimer: major place for wine but the wife and I arent drinkers any longer. Selection looked decent at first glance) The servers were knowledable and absolutely a treasure to deal with. The ambiance of the whole place is a low-lit pleasure, from the candle lit tables to the Italian-streetcorner feel of the rooms. On to brass tacks, the food: I can only guess what the rest of the menu is like from the calamari but let me say.. Ive had squid in all different cuts from at least 30 different restaurants throughout the states..This was the most tender calamari Ive ever had. They use cutlets from the bell which is a much different experience to the normal calamari rings you get in Texas. The price was very reasonable for the quantity received. We decided to share an order of Cajun pasta, to which our server brought it to us in perfectly sized bowls for each of us. A delightfully creamy, slightly spicy, tomato-base pasta with grilled shrimp. Delicious. I short, this place is a dream. Absolutely recommend and will be back.
