Theodore Rex - Houston

Robin Andrews A 10/10 meal. Definitely one of the best dinners I’ve had not just in Texas, but the entire US. Everything was delicious, but a special shoutout goes to the Gulf Redfish, which was a singularly tasty and well-constructed plate of food. Phenomenal. Make the time to come here if you’re in Houston; you won’t be disappointed.
barley swine

Barley Swine - Austin

Rating: 4.7 /5
Rita Fennelly-Atkinson My spouse and I just celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary and we wanted to do something fun. We have heard great things about Barley Swine and celebrated there! We did the tasting menu with the wine pairing. The entire meal from beginning to end was perfect. Every single bite of every dish was perfectly balanced. Each dish had its own distinct profile that elevated the flavors of the ingredients in a cohesive and complimentary manner. It is literally the best meal I have had in my entire life so far. The wine pairings were amazing as well. Every single selection had a lovely nose that elevated the experience. Each pairing was perfectly matched to the dish, in a complimentary manner in which neither competed with the other. I’m usually not a big fan of white wines or sake, and the selections challenged my conception of what an amazing pairing might entail. Whether it was the presentation, the dish, or pairing, every aspect of this meal was perfect. I loved every bite, every spice, every drink, and the atmosphere! Our servers were absolutely wonderful. I couldn’t wish for a better experience! PS I have a gluten sensitivity and they were lovely about it!
palenque grill hwy 35

Palenque Grill Hwy 35 - Laredo

Rating: 4.6 /5
jorge martine Palenque Grill has a really good atmosphere — nice place to relax and enjoy some food. I ordered the Volcanes, and they were honestly really good. For the price, they’re a great deal and definitely something you can share. I also got the Chipotle Chicken, which was delicious. You can tell they actually take their time preparing the food because the flavor and quality were there in every bite. The only thing I noticed was the service was a bit slow at first. There were a lot of people, and only a couple of waiters, so I got forgotten for a little bit. But to be fair, I was eating alone, and my waiter was handling a big table of about eight people, so I understand why it happened. Overall, the food was excellent, and I’m definitely coming back. I wasn’t even in the mood to try steak this time, but just based on the Volcanes and the chicken, I can tell the rest of the menu is probably just as good.

Péché - Austin

Rating: 4.5 /5
Funmi S Dinner at Péché was such a treat. The moody, vintage atmosphere made it feel like a hidden gem in downtown Austin. The cocktails were outstanding creative, balanced, and clearly crafted with care. For dinner, the veal and duck confit mac & cheese were rich and delicious, perfect for sharing. Service was warm and attentive without being overbearing. Overall, Péché is the kind of place that makes a night out feel special. 10/10

Mylon Kirksy Austinites, let me tell you something, if you haven’t tried this restaurant, you are missing out on a quintessential Texas experience. Atmosphere, Texas-downed! Service, excellent and friendly. Food, a-mazing! I came for my anniversary and with every course, we found ourselves smiling. From Chef Nichlous Mason to Creative Experience Maker (server) Gladys, you will be overwhelmed by the experience, presentation, and attention to detail. I will definitely be coming back. See you there!

Shawn M Manwaring Went here for Christmas and man was the hibachi absolutely delicious. Service was great and the poor server had been there all day. I will definitely return, probably some of the best hibachi I have had in Houston.
