4 /5 Martello Aimee (Cherry): After seeing that this place opened recently, partner and I stopped in for a Friday night dinner date.
The atmosphere is warm and cozy, they had a Christmas tree and were playing Christmas music with medium ambient lighting. Other than the employees, a family in the back that seemed to be related to employees, and one other family, we were actually alone in the restaurant.
We received complimentary bread that was quite good. Soft, warm, and served with oil and vinegar. Could’ve used some butter, but still delightful anyway.
I got the Piccata, and though it wasn’t bad, I didn’t find it amazing either. The chicken had a lovely cook to it, and they actually served the side pasta in the sauce instead of with marinara which was nice, but the sauce distinctly lacked the citrus flavor that makes Piccata what it is. I strongly believe no lemon at all was in the sauce. It was more than palatable, just not what I expected.
I also felt that overall, the prices seemed reasonable and competitive for the area.
All in all, the place gave me a distinct feeling of, “I’m a little disappointed today, but I’d come back and try something else.” Likely something in a red sauce.
Shoutout to our server Amanda for her great service during our meal!
