Omars Mexican Cuisine 2 - (Near Waxahachie, TX)

Alexis Wright My boyfriend and I travel across the US for work, we are away from home probably 80% of the time. We have been to hundreds of restaurants. This was our first visit to Lazy Dog, and it was the best restaurant experience we have had in years. Our server Lexi was very welcoming and attentive. When we informed her that we had not been here before, the manager Greg came over with chips on the house, and answered our many questions about the menu. While debating between steaks, he recommended the chuckwagon flat iron. I was a little apprehensive as it mentioned a coffee + cocoa rub which I assumed would be pretty polarizing. Greg was very confident I would enjoy it, even offering to comp the meal if I did not! I was very pleasantly surprised. The steak was delicious, perfectly cooked, and the chili butter on top was spectacular. The mashed potatoes (with burgundy wine sauce) were probably the best I have ever had. My boyfriend ordered the ginger soy salmon which was done perfectly, flaky and moist. We also started with the french onion pastry puffs which were very tasty. Overall everything was so flavorful. The restaurant was very clean and the service was amazing. I rarely leave reviews on anything but we had an incredible experience.

John John Mehn!! The food was amazing! They pack the plate! My wife said the owner gave her free drinks because she had to wait longer for the food! However trust me it’s worth the wait! I would say call in for the orders vs DoorDash online orders. I’m from the Caribbean and trust me all that sauce on the rice is amazing!! lol

Chelsea Frost My coworker and I stopped in last night for dinner and a couple of drinks. Let me start out by saying I rarely feel compelled to write a review... but we both had such a great time last night thanks to the 2 bartenders working. Jennifer and Jorge not only made me the best cocktails Ive ever had, but they were fun and worked together seamlessly. My coworker and I had to force ourselves to leave but we wanted to hang out forever. As long as Jennifer and Jorge are working there, we will be back as much as possible. Cantina 1948 is lucky to have them!

Alisa Davydova Ive been wanting to visit this place for awhile and we finally were able to come out and enjoy this place. When we first came in we were hit with a beautiful rustic interior. Very suitable for date night and the design really suits the restaurant as well. We were then sat and greeted by an amazing and kind server. Her name is Rhiannon. She had amazing recommendations and suggestions and made our night amazing. We got a couple of appetizers, we got the Goat cheese fondue(4/5), Brussels Spouts (5/5) and Crab fritters(2/5) the Crab fritters came out with 5 little balls and some sauce. they were a little fishy and for $16 it just wasnt the best and pretty pricy in my opinion. then for our entrees we got the Shrimp Rigatoni(5/5), and the French Onion Burger (4/5). We also got a side of mac and cheese and that was hands down the best mac and cheese we ever had. We also had 5 different cocktails which were all great and for a good price too!! We also got the Dude where are my car keys(i think) whiskey flight. All the drinks were amazing and for a fair price so this is a new favorite spot for us. And we finished off with their Whiskey cake with Honey Bourbon ice cream. I honestly hate cakes in America since theyre usually very dry. This was the most delicious cake ive ever had in my life and it made sense to me why they named the restaurant after the cake. Overall we had an amazing experience and we will for sure be back and hope to be served by Rhiannon every time.

Lisa Carlson We drive through a few times a year, and when we can, we stop here. Every meal is outstanding! The staff are Texas friendly, and the service is awesome!! This time I took photos!! The servings are HUGE!! We should have shared!

Wayne Ingwersen Wednesday is the night for mature adults. Great crowd and they feature live country music. Started having food available, which is a plus. Bartenders were great along with the rest of the staff. Great place for the older crowd to gather and have some fun.
