Kathi Fasching What a great Spot! We just happened to be walking by while enjoying the seawall and decided to pop in for some drinks and snacks and it totally hit the spot! Great cocktails and a lovely view of the Gulf and Pleasure Pier. We also ordered the sampler of their appetizers and it was so much food we had to ask for a to go box. Super yummy shrimp and OMG the cheese sticks!! Loved are very attentive waiter and oh course the atmosphere.

Chef Cassys Kitchen - Eustace

Caren Nugent We had such a great experience at Chef Cassy’s. The food was absolutely amazing!! Our party of 9 had cheeseburgers, brisket potato, brisket and fries, fried catfish, ribs, and brisket and mac and cheese. Chef Cassy came out and talked to us like we were old friends!! We enjoyed our conversations with her. I would highly recommend going to her restaurant if you are anywhere near Mabank/Gun Barrel City/Eustace.

Roma Italian Bistro of Jacksonville - Jacksonville

Rating: 4.6 /5
Aaron Cummings I travel all over east Texas for work daily, and always eat at locally owned restaurants when possible. Roma Italian Bistro has excellent quality ingredients, made my 18” huge supreme pizza fast, and has excellent service. As soon as I walked in for my online order I was greeted by a young gentleman and had my pizza within a minute. I’ll definitely come again, and sit in to eat next time. Really relaxing atmosphere, with a bar and TV’s on the wall. I love Italian restaurants like this. You should definitely give them a try if you’re wanting authentic Italian food.

The Jalapeno Tree - Palestine

Rating: 3.9 /5
Carlos Gonzalez Well I’ll be honest , I was not expecting to love this place! From the outside it looked like a cliche Tex Mex location with too many jalapeño characters on the wall. Which is not a bad thing but just not my thing. But the wife said we should try it out and give it a chance. I’m glad we did! We ordered the combo fajitas and sopapillas for dessert. They were really good. The fajitas were perfectly cooked and had a great flavor. The rice and beans were average but to be honest rice and beans are always average lol. I wasn’t a fan of the table sauces but I asked for a hotter hot sauce and they brought one out that didn’t disappoint. Let me not forget about the tortillas, I should have known I was in for a treat when I had seen the butter at the table when we sat down. Now the best part of this experience was the service. Caitlyn did an amazing job ! We thank you for such great service. Overall I highly recommend this location and it has taught me to never judge a book by its cover!

Miss Nicole I placed a to-go order via inside the restaurant. Kaden was awesome! His customer service and friendliness were outstanding and very welcoming. It was my first time ordering from the to-go side, and he made it an amazing experience!

Scratch Sandwich Company & Brunch - Laredo

Rating: 4.4 /5
Russ Roberts If youre anywhere near Laredo, do yourself a favor and make your way to Scratch Sandwich Company. From the moment you walk in, the vibe is warm, welcoming, and full of the delicious smell of freshly made bread and sizzling meats. This place doesn’t just serve sandwiches—they serve experiences stacked between slices of heaven. We tried several items off the menu and honestly, each one was a knockout. The ingredients were unbelievably fresh, and you could tell everything was made in-house with care. The bread? Perfectly baked with that slight crunch on the outside and soft, chewy center. The meats were juicy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned—whether youre into brisket, pulled pork, or classic deli cuts, you’ll find something that hits the spot. One standout was their signature sandwich—the flavor combinations were bold but balanced, and the sauces (which I’m convinced are made by wizards) tied everything together flawlessly. Their creative use of toppings adds layers of flavor without overpowering the main ingredients. Oh, and don’t sleep on the sides—the fries were crispy and golden, and the house pickles were tangy with just the right kick. Service was quick, friendly, and genuinely enthusiastic about the food. You can tell the staff takes pride in what they’re serving, and rightfully so. Overall, Scratch Sandwich Company is a gem in Laredo. It’s the kind of place you come back to again and again—and then tell everyone you know about. Whether you’re a sandwich fanatic or just hungry for something amazing, you’ll leave happy (and probably full for the rest of the day).
