What Clients Are Saying Sealand Seafood & Steaks (GG)
2 /5 Kerrie Engelmann: One of my fried shrimp was yellow. Not the batter but the meat. I asked about it and they said they mix corn meal and flour together but this would not make the meat yellow. Looked like scrambled eggs had been fried. They offered one extra shrimp but I said no. I had already lost my appetite. They took 4 dollars off the bill. I will not go back. I’ve cooked all my life and catered meals. I’m still not sure what made the shrimp yellow but it was not good.
4 /5 Resa P: Visited for lunch on a Wednesday, with my cousin. Ive driven by multiple times, but never stopped.
We both had a catfish plate. The catfish was crispy and hot. It was quite good. The portion was generous. We had salad, which was fresh and cool. I had fried, which were good. My cousin had mashed potatoes, which he said were.from scratch.
Service was friendly and prompt. The restaurant was clean, which was refreahing. Will definitely visit again.
5 /5 Lavetta Ritchey: Just moved to the area and tried this place by chance. Awesome service from Alma. A large menu with a variety to choose from, and portions are easily shareable too. The coleslaw tasted better than homemade. Just the right mix of crunch and dressing. The steak was tender and had so much flavor. The alligator tail was crispy, and great with the ranch dressing. Three appetizers were probably too much, but we wanted to try a few options. We ended up taking home 4 containers for later.
4 /5 Rebecca Peters: Traveling through and stopped off for what turned out to be a great lunch! I had the grilled shrimp, steamed broccoli, salad, green beans and tea. My husband enjoyed 2-lbs crawfish and a cup of gumbo. I cant say enough good things about our meal...everything was delicious. The only critique would be more cajun-flavoring for crawfish. Mt grilled shrimp were delish, and the broccoli steamed perfectly. Our server was attentive to our needs and very pleasant.
2 /5 Dawn Lewis: The food is honestly hit or miss. The shrimp dishes are salty but pretty good. Everything else is horrible. The crawfish are DIRTY. The stuffed grilled salmon is dry and nasty. The dirty rice taste like old dish water. The butter sauce is salty and really spicy. The fried rice is horrible.
Reuben Alvear In the past few years Ive eaten here several times. La Cantera has delicious food, tasty margaritas and excellent service. Every waitress that Ive interacted with has been smiling, welcoming and behaving as though they genuinely want to serve you.

Hallie McCulloch This is an absolute HIDDEN GEM. The food and service were top tier and the atmosphere was relaxed but just fancy enough. The blue fin tuna in the sashimi was AMAZING and the lychee martini was the best cocktail I’ve had in a long time.
John Mark This spot is a must-visit for comfort food lovers. The barbecue plate was outstanding—tender, smoky, and perfectly paired with classic sides of coleslaw, baked beans, and creamy macaroni salad. Their deep-fried hamburgers are truly one of a kind, crispy on the outside yet juicy inside, making them unforgettable. And to top it all off, the banana pudding is the perfect sweet finish.
