3 /5 Lucky Explorer: We went to Selda Mediterranean Restaurant for lunch on a Saturday. It wasn’t too busy, which made it a relaxed experience. Parking was easy, the ambiance was pleasant, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Our food also came out pretty quickly.
For appetizers, we ordered the tzatziki, which was excellent and definitely a highlight. We also tried the stuffed dates. This was something new for us. While I personally didn’t enjoy it much, my husband liked it, and it was interesting to see dates served in a savory, salad-style preparation. The halloumi cheese was really good and flavorful, though the portion felt a bit small. It came with only four small pieces, with bell pepper mix underneath. A slightly larger portion would have been nice.
For mains, we ordered Chicken Adana and lamb chops. Unfortunately, both fell short for us. The chicken kebab was dry, not juicy, and lacked flavor. The rice served with it was bland, and the salad on the side didn’t have much seasoning or Mediterranean spice. The lamb chops were also on the drier side and felt under-seasoned. We also didn’t enjoy the rice and peas combination that came with the dishes.
Overall, the restaurant has a nice setting, good service, and some solid appetizers, but the main dishes we tried didn’t stand out in terms of flavor. With more seasoning and attention to juiciness, the food could be much better.
