Tad Palmer First of all...the staff was excellent! From the moment we ordered all the way up until we left. We received the best service, almost felt like VIPs with attention from bar staff and Ian Tonroy (who incidently has headlined at Cheatham Street! Ask him about his music...his band is killer! Ian Tonroy & Twice Shy...new album Long Way Down on music apps)! Now, onto the food... so its a different atmosphere that seems to cater to the lifestyle of San Marcos. You order at the counter, provide your cell number, and retrieve your food when its ready. So it leaves you Manu options as far as seating. From inside and outside downstairs as well as upstairs. There us a nacho bar where you get your own chips and salsa as well as Pico, cheese and sour cream. Bars are located downstairs and upstairs as well. We had the salamander nachos and their tater tot appetizers. Both items together were enough for me and my wife to share and feel like we had enough to eat. You can see, and taste, right away there is a freshness to the food and the ingredients used. The chips are great as well, coming homemade from a location in San Antonio. We truly enjoyed the food. And the atmosphere is lively and very colorful. We will be returning...this is bar far and away better then our visit to a local competitor (that received 1 ☆...industry). Highly recommend Blind Salamander!
I will add, if reading through the reviews, a majority of those not in favor are likely college age based on the location and local city population of the immediate area. Im a huge reviewer of restraints with a long history of cooking. Im sure experiences will vary, but we enjoyed the visit without question. (Parents of 5 and close to retirement)
