5 /5 Lizzie T: I was searching for a place to go for my birthday dinner that was not your typical chain restaurant.
We were NOT disappointed choosing The Grill at Calder! From the moment we sat down, our server, Lena(I hope thats her name) was amazing, very attentive, funny, gave great suggestions for food and drinks and was just fun! The food was excellent, we had the Pork Belly appetizer and I didnt think Pork Belly and Fried Green tomatoes would go together but, oh was it good! I ended up having the Pichana and my husband had the Ribeye, both seasoned very well, the veggies were well prepared and fresh and the potatoes, mine sweet and his garlic mashed were fluffy and delicious. Because it was my actual birthday, I had my choice of a complimentary dessert and OMG a little slice of heaven in the Red Velvet Cheesecake dessert! It was AMAZING, not too sweet, a great combination of flavor, one not overpowering the next and the homemade whipped cream, yum!
The musician was great, she even sang Happy Birthday to me! We ended up staying until closing time, we were enjoying ourselves that much and had a chance to meet the owner and had a drink with him, he is the funniest and nicest man!
This place is a hidden gem and we will definitely go there again!
