The Gruene Door - (Near New Braunfels, TX)

James Rhodes Early dinner visit. The food was excellent—absolutely no complaints there. When we arrived, they were playing some pretty loud, pop-style Christmas music, which was a bit much. To their credit, they did turn it down somewhat when asked, and that helped. Service was decent, though the server could have been a bit more attentive. Our drink order was taken quickly, but we didn’t get another chance to order appetizers separately, so we had to order everything at once. As a result, there wasn’t much time to enjoy the apps before the main courses arrived, which came out fairly quickly. If I had one real complaint, it would be the cleanliness of the restrooms, which was far below expectations. Overall, though, the food was outstanding and everything else was fine. I’m still giving this a 5 because of the quality of the food, but if there were a 4.5 option, that would probably be more accurate.

Amber Edison We ordered delivery and really didnt know what to expect. The food is phenomenal! The gumbo was great, even with a lighter base. The sausage fried rice and catfish po boy was just as good. My husband said it is the best he has in Texas. I cant wait to try it again.

Cathy C First visit. Weve been searched for a great Mexican restaurant and today we found it. My husband is the pickiest and I was looking for good tacos. I had the combo with a taco, beans, rice, cheese enchilada & a tamale. The fixings for the taco was exceptional. Lots of cheese & guacamole. The shell stayed crispy the whole meal & didnt fall apart. Delish. Hubby got the Mucho dinner and loved the enchiladas. We ordered the frio sauce and nice spice. Chips & salsa so good. Service by Teresa was good even though so busy.

Channing Blue Saraya G was our waitress today! She was great! Friendly, prompt and attentive to our needs. Food was good. My husband and I did the $42 meal together which included the gringo dip, 2 entrees (southwest wrap with mac and cheese for both) and the brownie caramel ice cream dessert. Our food was good. Our service was great. My only complaint is how dark it is in the restaurant. It was a little hard to see walking in. Our table lights were good for ordering but I wish there was a bit more light!

Houston Foodie Great service , great location, Nice people and Great atmosphere. Jenna was my server and she was the best . I had a steak and it was so juicy and tender. I will return!

Mark Rabinovitsh Absolutely phenomenal experience at Hamsa! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and inviting. Our server Michelle was fantastic — friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect throughout the evening. The floor manager Jordan Hooks was also incredibly accommodating and made us feel truly welcome. We started with the lamb hummus, amba pickled vegetables, and harissa carrots — all bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. The pita bread, fresh and warm right out of the oven, was some of the best I’ve had anywhere. For mains, the chicken thigh skewer was juicy, tender, and perfectly seasoned, while the lamb Lachmagun was absolutely excellent — rich, savory, and full of depth. And then… dessert! The Malabi was outstanding, the Petiber tiramisu was delightful, but the chocolate halva completely stole the show — especially paired with a cup of hot Turkish coffee. Every dish was a hit, the service was top-notch, and the entire experience was exceptional from start to finish. Can’t wait to come back!
