5 /5 Anastasia Pastuszak: Wonderful pub located in Georgetown. This was our first time visiting this area of Texas and we love authentic British food. Highly recommend the drinks and the smashburger. This was definitely one of the juciest, flavorful burgers that weve had. A must try. The service was quick and friendly. The ambiance was genuine to the theme of a British pub.

5 /5 Marisha Nowa: After seeing the buzz around the redesign, we’d been eager to finally visit Grumpy George’s, and boy, did it not disappoint! This renovation has successfully transported the dining experience, creating an atmosphere that is wonderfully reminiscent of a cozy, authentic British pub. The overall setting is warm and inviting—a perfect spot for a relaxed meal. But the real stars of the visit were the plates coming out of the kitchen. The undisputed champion was the Fish and Chips. They were, simply put, PHENOMENAL. The generous portion of cod was encased in a golden, perfectly crisp batter that was light and airy, while the fish inside remained moist and flaky. This is a must-try dish for anyone visiting. We also sampled the house burger, which was a very strong contender. Juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked, it was a genuinely satisfying take on a classic. Grumpy George’s has done a superb job blending a great, evocative atmosphere with truly outstanding pub fare. If you’ve been wanting to visit since the redone, dont wait any longer—it’s a clear success.

3 /5 P C (Baba Yaga): Look, I LOVE me some fish & chips and Shepard’s pie and after seeing all the good reviews and people gong on about how good and big the cod was, we thought we’d give it a try. I don’t know where some of these people who say that this is the biggest cod they’ve ever seen & the most delicious have been. They probably haven’t gone to Fort Kenny Pub in Rond Rock. It doesn’t even compare. Don’t let me start on the Sheppard pie. Ok, I’ll start. I was excited to see that they used lamb. I was thinking authentic. The portion for the price was Small! The potatoes on the top was not even toasted. The inside tasted like wolf brand chili topped woth mashed potatoes. It was not good at all. My husband also got the creamy cabbage. I guess I was thinking southern cabbage but when we got it, it looked like coleslaw in a bowl of milk but it was Warm. It was gross. My son ate the smash burger & it was actually good but they only had a sprinkle of fries. I do not recommend the Sheppard pie nor the cream cabbage. The cod was good but not great & a bigger portion would have been better. Finally the burger was good if you want to go for the experience.

The service and staff were exceptional and very attentive. The food itself came out quickly, warm and tasty. The atmosphere was cozy. We tried the scotch egg 5/5. Shepherd pie 4/5. Cooked great, but a little under seasoned. Fish and Chips 4/5. Cooked to perfection with the fries, but again slightly under seasoned. Creamed cabbage and pees with Smoked bacon 5/5. Best cabbage my wife ever had! I dont particularly like cabbage but I loved this dish as well. Only major complaint was the physical table were we sat to eat. Very wobbly, and when I inspected it, there was a strip of material attempting to balance one of the legs.

4 /5 Sommer Roy: My Hubby and I recently saw the Grumpy Georges relaunch featured on Gordon Ramsays Kitchen Nightmares. The owners newfound knowledge and food looked amazing so we decided to give it a try! Weve never eaten British cuisine before so we were excited to experience the food! I just got out of the hospital so Im craving good food! My Hubby and I also missed Valentines Day because I was in the hospital so we needed a nice outing. The restaurant has a ramp that is handicap accessible (thank you!) and a small area of outside seating. The inside is cozy and stylish and looks like the traditional English Pubs weve seen on TV. The servers were absolutely great! They were attentive, friendly, and on top of everything! There was hardly any wait time for our appetizers and main dishes. It wasnt very crowded because we got there before the dinner rush, but there were still a decent amount of customers. The Food: Since weve never had traditional British food, we werent sure what to expect. All of Gordons menu items from the show were available. The menu is short and sweet, but still a variety. The prices are just a tad higher than your average sit down restaurant, but the servings and food were well worth it. We ordered the Scotch Egg of course with piccalilli and it was delicious! Weve never had one and it was a great first experience! My Hubby ordered the Lamb Shepherds pie, and I ordered Fish and Chips with a side of Creamed Cabbage. Hubby really enjoyed his Shepards Pie! The Lamb adds a great, unique taste as opposed to the ground beef we usually use. My Fish and Chips plate came with Tartar sauce, Ketchup, and a small dish of mushy peas! The beer battered fish was one of the largest pieces Ive ever seen! It was cooked to perfection! It was crispy on the outside and melt in your mouth, buttery tender on the inside! It was delicious! The fries were also cooked well. I had a drink called "Fancy a Cuppa Pimms" which came in an iced chiled copper cup that kept it cool! The Strawberry and Cucumber flavors were great and I enjoyed it! However, in my opinion, the absolute STAR of the show was the Creamed Cabbage!! Ive never had it before, but I love cabbage. Ive eaten cabbage many different ways here in the south, but never like this! Let me tell you..it was THE most delicious cabbage dish Ive ever eaten! It had cream, cabbage, peas, and small pieces of smoked bacon. This combination is fit for the Gods! Im not kidding when I say that I was so sad when I ate the last of it. I would drive hours just to have it again! The Sticky Toffee Pudding dessert was also very delicious! If I had to offer any constructive criticism, it would be what other people are saying about the lack of seasoning. The Shepherds Pie and the fish batter were a little under seasoned. Im not a big fan of restaurants putting a lot of salt, pepper, or spicy stuff on things. If a customer wants more, we can just use the salt and pepper provided at the table instead of it being served too salty or too spicy..So, when I say it wasnt seasoned enough, I mean it was less than the minimal amount of any type of seasoning needed for that dish. However, because everything was cooked perfectly, the lack of seasoning was forgivable. We just salt and peppered it ourselves. Ive never had Malt Vinegar, so I didnt know what it was when I saw it on our table. I read today that it goes well on the fish, so Ill try that next time too. I wish the server would have mentioned what it was and its purpose for us non British folk! Also, our table had a broken leg that wobbled a bit. Not a huge deal. Overall, it was a great experince! It was especially a treat to taste Gordon Ramsays recipes from his traditional British background. He taught the cooks here well! It was also good to see the familiar staff. Weve been telling all of our friends about this unique British Pub experience as well as the great food! I have to go back to the hospital for another surgery soon and will be craving good food again after. So, wed love to return to the Grumpy George!
