Delicias De Guatemala - Hereford

Rating: 4.6 /5
Ryan Tobin I was taken care of like one of their own. I was not expecting how awesome the food was. First time there, checked prices before ordering, needed to scrounge 2 dollars & before I could explain, he says "no problem, senor.". Even after falling short on the cost, halfway through my meal, I was offered more warm homemade tortillas! (I had already eaten the 8 they gave me with my chicken, fries, rice and beans). There graciousness and courtesy left this white boy from Cali feeling humbled in a way I had not in a long time. Please consider paying a visit...I hope you appreciate and enjoy them as much as I did.

Julie Sierra The whole vibe here was amazing. The perfect place to wind down after work with such a calming environment. This is the perfect date night spot or a dun night out with friends. They never made us feel rushed and made sure our drinks were flowing. We had some appetizers and were not disappointed with the taste. They were delicious. We were pleased with the drinks and their flavors! We are not a local to here as we drove 2 hours to go. We will be coming back.

htxfoodexplorer Really love the variety at this place. They had up Christmas decoration that was rly aesthetically pleasing. I really appreciated the work they put into their decorations. They have a bar inside, seating, and bench seating.. I tried the pudding like savory appetizer called chawamushi and banh xeo which had a lot of bean sprouts and was huge.

Hoppes Cantina - Texas City

Rating: 4.1 /5
Kelly Moody Walking into Hoppes Cantina on Easter morning around 10:30am, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The place was completely empty, which can go either way but any doubts were immediately put to rest thanks to Jazmin, the bartender, who greeted us with a genuine smile and effortless charm. She was not only friendly, but also a great conversationalist who set the tone for what turned out to be a fantastic meal. We started off with something I’d never had before: fried tamales. Yes, you read that right…hot, crispy tamales that were crunchy on the outside while still soft and savory inside. Unique, and absolutely delicious. After reading rave reviews about the carne asada, I couldn’t resist and I’m so glad I didn’t. The steak was perfectly juicy, rich with flavor, and clearly cooked with care. Paired with charro beans that had a delightful jalapeño kick, it was a seriously satisfying plate. Their salsa brought a nice spice to the table too fresh, flavorful, and balanced. My husband ordered the birria tacos, and they did not disappoint either. They were tender, flavorful, and came with just the right amount of melty cheese and savory broth for dipping. Absolutely worth coming back for. To top it all off, we split a plate of sopapillas, which came out as a massive portion and dusted with just the right amount of sugar and cinnamon. The sides of chocolate and strawberry dipping sauces were a fun, indulgent bonus. On the drinks side, Jazmin made me a killer Michelada, well-balanced, refreshing, and one of the better ones I’ve had in a while. They also had a great beer selection on tap, including some fun local brews. The Ghost in the Machine was fantastic. Even though the place was empty when we arrived, it quickly became clear that Hoppes Cantina is a total hidden gem. The food? Top notch. The vibe? Laid-back, friendly, and full of personality. If youre looking for bold flavors and warm service, dont pass this place up. We’ll definitely be back.
