Mary Meaux Stopped in Amarillo for lunch. Yall....this food was sooooo good! One of my favorite things is trying local restaurants when we travel. This place has been in business for 28 years. Laura was our waitress and was lovely. We enjoyed talking with Scott and he was kind and gave us an order form for pies and bread. Homemade yeast rolls that were beyond delicious. I had the chicken fried steak (no, I didnt finish it) and my husband had the breaded pork chops (he finished the pork chops but not the mashed potatoes). Also...those potatoes and gravy from scratch. Taters, precious!! Looking for excuses to drive this way again.

Kristi Williams The food has been great every time I’ve visited. I’ve been to both the Westheimer and Pearland locations, and the experience has been consistently good. The customer service is solid, and the food is flavorful and satisfying. At the Pearland location, the food isn’t quite as spicy, which I understand may be based on the customer base, but when I asked for my food to be cooked at its normal heat level, they were more than happy to accommodate. I absolutely love the beef suya, as well as the shrimp and crawfish dish. The plantain chips they bring out at the beginning are a really nice touch and always hit the spot. One of our household favorites is the okra soup with pounded yam—it never disappoints. Overall, this is a really great place with a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere. I definitely recommend both locations. They also have a great happy hour, making it an excellent spot to bring guests. I’ve had friends visit from out of town who absolutely loved it, and now every time they come to the Houston area, this is where they ask to go.

Erin Bain My family and I were pleasantly surprised with our first ever visit to Shumardiis tonight. The atmosphere was nothing like we expected based on the outside. The inside is like a cozy pub with stained glass artwork above most if not all of the booths and wood everywhere. The service was good and the food portions were generous. Food was tasty as well. Some of the best ranch dressing Ive ever had! They offered a kids menu which we found slightly overpriced, so our kids split an appetizer and it was plenty of food. The appetizers also all happened to be $2 off during our visit.

Kevin Brewster Chain or no chain yall , this plate was fire! Ribeye steak was seasoned perfectly and a medium rare cook was spot on. This steak was better than many fancy steakhouses I have been to for half the price. The mushrooms were a great compliment with the steak and rice . The rice had an amazing taste and definitely I would order as a side again. 4 shrimp were grilled just right with some drawn butter . The French fries were seasoned and hot ! I had two long pour margaritas also which were blended well. The waitress/Bartender was exceptional and very knowledgeable of the menu . Traveling through here but would come back ! Awesome spot for a steak dinner !

Shanna Woodson We went tonight. They were pretty steady. Our waiter Steven was amazing very attentive. The food was very good. The atmosphere was quiet not loud at all. Service was fast not too fast that you didnt have time to enjoy your appetizers before main course came out. Which we loved that. Steven came back to check on us often along with his other tables. Manager came by to speak with us. We will definitely be back to this location again. Keep up the great experience.
