SouTex Traveller Get the heck off the highways with fast food and stop into the Rusty Spur downtown for great meals. First, or service from Maddie (sp?) was excellent…friendly, knowledgeable, attentive, friendly, fast. Couldn’t have enjoyed her more. Wagyu sausage was very tasty app. Steak was exactly medium rare, tater piping hot, salad bar fresh…and beer cold! Metro dining experience in Childress’ quaint downtown. Excellent!

Jayne Feiner Traveling through town without a lot of options. This was like eating at grandmas house not for the vibe but for the quality of food. The local high school game was on the radio TVs going they poor a great drink the husband wanted a shot and they took the time to chill it when it was certainly busy. They went out of their way to provide quality service and food. The gravy was amazing we had the hamburger steak with gravy and ribeye with mushrooms and gravy. We ate it all left a small bite for our pup as a treat. We will definitely stop by here again Most importantly we had been in Tyler earlier in the day and had eaten top rated BBQ some of the best we’ve ever tasted so we thought we were done for good food for the day at least rained in opinion but nope this was good too!!

Jerri Half I ordered the pastor plate. My partner got beef enchiladas .The portions were generous and tasty. We also ordered chips and salsa. The salsa, while tasty, was more along the lines of the broth a Mexican shrimp cocktail is in. We ended up getting the salsas out of the salsa bar and dipped the great chips (fresh, thin, and crisp) in those. The refried beans and rice tasted authentic and not out of some box or packet. The restaurant is not fancy on the inside but the help was friendly. Our meals were served on disposable plates, but that that had no bearing on the flavor or quality of the meals - which for a town the size of Childress was a pleasant surprise.

Amanda I don’t know what has been going on here. They used to have really great service and the food even for McDonald’s was darn good. This has been the second order that we have had to wait outrageous times. My partner had to go in and actually tell them we had an order and the lady working took 15 minutes before even acknowledging his existence in the store. Three other doordashers complained of this same issue. In addition, everyone before us was walking out with nothing. I try to be very understanding and patient but this is crazy… Today I ordered st 1045/11am ish only to receive my order TWO HOURS LATER! The fries were stale, and cold, the bread on our sandwiches was very stale and tasted like they just reheated 4 weeks old food. Not acceptable.

Philip Schielke Fun place. They don’t always have what’s on the menu. Chicken strips are big and awesome. Honestly, the fish is even better. Mashed potatoes were nothing special but good biscuits!

Clay Mize Delicious food. Unique and inviting atmosphere. Friendly service. The servings were very generous. I had a croissant sandwich and it was DELICIOUS, best croissant I’ve ever had. Purchased a loaf of rustic bread to take home and it was great as well.

Rose Fernandez You know a restaurant is good when you see the locals there. Conveniently located on the 287, this family restaurant has exceeded our expectations! We stopped by for lunch on our road trip. The food was great and the bathroom was clean. We had a great time! :D

Jeon Pretty cool bbq house! Very large place and gets pretty bust towards evening as there is not much around these parts. Despite long lines someone came out shortly after i came in. Food was ready momentarily and was absolutely delicious. This place is reasonably priced, too!

Kaine Welch I can honestly say that I have eaten at a lot of places in my life. I have enjoyed many meals. But this one in its own way it takes to kick, and the reason being is on my travels. I stopped in there after a nights sleep in this town. My quaint little country town, very friendly folks. I had the lovely honor to meet the owner of this establishment, and all I know is It was nice. She I took the time to talk, pray. It just kind of briefly share some stories. Its that old world soul that I feel like you miss with being able to talk to people and just be able to go on with your day better than it started! Oh, and the food was really good.Thank you again

Nicole Garcia We had a nice visit overall. Small wait but we could tell they were working with a new cook who was trying hard to make sure he made orders correctly. We wanted to order the new spicy chicken basket but unfortunately they didn’t get their order in so she only had a few pieces left. She threw those in with our regular chicken so we could try them. And they were delicious. The food came out hot and correct. The restaurant was clean and so were the restrooms.
