El Guadalajaras Mexican Restaurant - (Near Shelton, WA)

1 /5 Matthew Lininger: Total rip-off. I just started teaching and coaching in Shelton. One of my football players recommended this place to me. I ask the waiter what he would recommend. He tells me about the special (pork Shank) so I give it a try, and order a drink. For a small town it tastes pretty good, nothing special but kinda what I figured, the beverage on the other hand, was absolutely horrible. Still they were very polite and check on me twice while I was eating. All in all it was a place I would have definitely come back to... Then the check comes, this is when I find out the pork Shank is 25% more than their most expensive dish on their menu and realized I had just been ripped off. Is what it is but I think the content of someones character means as much if not more than the quality of the food.

3 /5 Paula Laney: The food was very good, a bit over priced beans n rice, 1 enchilada & 1 taco. The saddest part of my experience was ordering a shot of Hornitos to add to thier house margaritas (which lacked taste and seemed watered down. 1 shot was 11.00. No happy hour appetizers or drinks. No one in the restaurant from 4-6pm when I left. Its alright if youre hungry and right there but if you want quality Mexican food and a decent Margherita...try another place that wants your business

1 /5 Katie H: I was looking forward to a good dish of chili verde. I don’t like my food very spicy. My go to dish is always chili verde. It’s mild with wonderfully seasoned moist, flavorful chunks of pork. I ordered to go. The shop was busy and noisy so I’m glad I opted for take away. Got home unwrapped the cartons ready to dig in. Smell is good. But I was going to be let down. First disappointing item to find: Only about 1/4 Cup or less of refried beans in the carton. It was over whelmed by a mound of rice. I can live with that, not happy because I like the beans but okay. Moving on. Second let down was the sauce on the pork. It is very thin and dark green Not the thicker, more creamy green I am familiar with. Hopefully it will still yield the flavors I am craving. 3rd disappointment: The meat chunks are small. As I bite into one I find it hard and over cooked. If that wasn’t disappointing enough the sauce is about an 8 on a heat scale of 0-10. I asked the server when I ordered to verify the sauce was extremely mild. She said it wasn’t spicy at all. She lied! I added sour cream to try and cut the heat and maybe cream up the thin green, very hot sauce. It helped cut the heat by a small amount but I just couldn’t get past the tough, leathery pork. For $25 a plate it was extremely disappointing. I won’t be returning again.

5 /5 swisscraiz Appert: Amazing Place in Shelton! Reminds me of the days before high food prices. This place gives you a lot of food for a very good price! Atmosphere is great. We where here at lunch time and it is on slower side but would not doubt this place to be very busy in the evening time! Also their signature Burrito was amazing my wife and I both love this place and will be loyal and happy to return customers.
