4 /5 Jessica Cervantes: This place is absolutely adorable. Its an experience by itself. All of the food we ordered was yummy. Some portions were enormous and some portions were not. We all liked the food well enough. Server was wonderful. We would be back. The only thing id love is a visual menu because I had to Google half the items to see what they were.

4 /5 Fiorella Calderoni: Food was yummy but its really hard to talk or enjoy the space with how loud the dining room is. They could use some help with acoustics. Our throats were sore from speaking loudly. Service was friendly. Fondue was delicious. Stoked they make mulled wine during the holidays. Not sure well go back very often, especially not for occasions with friends when we want to be able to talk

4 /5 Sorrentino C.T. “CombatCritic”: After redeploying from a few years abroad, we somehow always find ourselves maneuvering back to Gustavs--because in the AO of Portland-Vancouver, good, reasonably authentic German chow is harder to find than a clean porta-john in a warzone. Prices? Reasonable. Portions? Adequate firepower. We hit the OBJ and, as usual, no wait. Immediate seating. No need for Close Air Support or a table reservation. The staff ran their mission tight--friendly, fast, and squared away. The atmosphere? Straight out of a Bavarian forward operating base--warm, wood-heavy construction, stained glass, tall ceilings. Cozy, inviting, and well within German cultural ROE. We kicked things off with the Fondue ($9)--a hot LZ of creamy cheese with German bread for dipping. Solid value. Good taste. Zero casualties. My main op was the Hungarian Jägerschnitzel ($21)--breaded pork cutlet, mushroom sauce, mashed potatoes. Cutlet wasnt exactly a shock-and-awe portion, and it couldve used more gravy for fire support, but overall, I was a happy camper. My XO ordered the Chicken Cordon Bleu ($24) with spaetzle--breaded chicken stuffed with ham and Swiss cheese. Again, portions werent the kind of heavy artillery you get in Munich, and there was no soup or salad backup, but she enjoyed every bite. Not sure why this place keeps falling off our radar, but well maintain loyalty--because German restaurants in this theater of operations are few and far between, and Vancouver has exactly zero others as far as intel indicates. 5 /5 Aiden Pearson: If it was an option this place would have 6 stars! The food: 11/10 The service: 10/10 The vibes: 12/10 This place is about as close to authentic as you can get. As soon as you walk in you are greeted by the amazing German architecture and decorations. The staff is super friendly, giving food recommendations and advice as well. The fondue is 110% worth it. The cheese is heavenly, don’t skip it. So many delicious options to choose from as well, it will be on the list for round #2 for sure.

5 /5 Micela Medina: Always love going to Gustavs. Its one of my go-to places to bring my family that is visiting. The portion sizes, the family-friendly atmosphere, and the service is always great. The prices are great as you can share the entrees. I recommend the fondue with the pretzel & sausage or the konigsberger klopse.
