4 /5 Les Herrera: First of all, I apologize in advance if I spell the names of the dishes incorrectly — I may not remember their exact names, so please forgive me.
We were simply looking for a brunch spot and found this place through Google Maps recommendations. We generally love Middle Eastern cuisine, so we decided to give it a try.
Overall, it’s an interesting and authentic place with a pleasant atmosphere. The staff were very kind and welcoming, especially our waitress Molly— she was lovely. Everything we ordered was good, and my husband really enjoyed his meal.
That said, I’m a bit picky when it comes to food, mostly because I’m spoiled by good restaurants and good cuisine in my native country. My kofta, in my opinion, could have been cooked a bit more — it felt slightly on the edge for me. My husband, on the other hand, absolutely loved the kofta burger. We also tried the lahmajeen; for my taste, it could have been better, talking about the texture of the ground meet on a flat brad.
The atmosphere is nice and cozy. I especially loved the deep turquoise color — very beautiful and adds a lot of character. A small but appreciated detail: unlike many places in Olympia, they were generous with napkins, which I honestly thank you for.
I’m giving 4 stars for a few reasons. First, it was a bit chill inside — the AC could be set a little warmer. Second, when you walk in, there is a noticeable smell. It’s not something you really feel while sitting and eating, but it’s there at the entrance. This is not specific to this restaurant — many places in this area have the same issue.
In general, restaurants in Olympia often feel a bit rough around the edges and could be held to a higher standard. This place is definitely better than many others nearby, but not quite a “wow” level for me.
That said, it’s a very nice restaurant, and I would come back. There is room to grow, but overall it’s a solid and enjoyable place.
