2 /5 Cindy Pealstrom: A two star review is extremely rare for me and Im not even sure this should be two stars! Weve eaten at Whiskey Mill on several occasions and its always been mediocre at best. This time it dipped quite a bit below mediocre. I must say though, the hostess was perfect, she can have all two stars! She greeted us with a genuine smile, was friendly and sat us right away with a carafe of water but no cups, that was odd! The place was empty so not sure why it took forever for anybody to even acknowledge us but it worked to our advantage because we were able to order everything at once. The drinks came out first, as they should, but then the food came out right behind them, like 3-4 minutes later. Thats too quick to be made to order so not sure whats going on in that kitchen! I got the prawns and risotto, big mistake! It was literally crunchy, like minute rice type crunchy half cooked rice! When I told our server he said yeah, he had complaints the day before about it! What? Why didnt you tell me when I ordered it? The short rib reuben was on the dry side and definitely not freshly made but at least was a little warm. I suppose I should have stuck with the poutine, it used to be good, maybe it still is!
