THE BBQ HOUSE - Fairfield

Rating: 4.3 /5
Chris Sinatra When it comes to brisket im pretty picky having been stationed in texas for 5 years. But these guys nailed it! Extremely flavorful and juicy with that perfect smoke ring. Also had the chicken breast with it. Amazing! Great customer service also. These two gentlemen were super chill and down to earth.

Main St Tin Roof Bistro - Jackson

Shane Gee Me and my wife stopped in here for the first time over the weekend and had an absolutely awesome time. We were lucky enough to get to hangout at the bar and chat with Chris, the owner, who could not have been better. The guy is a literal font of knowledge about all this wine related in the area and so many recommendations to share, along with really interesting wines. This place is the real city hall and I think Chris should be the mayor. Highly recommend to check out if you are passing through the area.

Ichi Shabu - Fresno

Rating: 4.7 /5
Alexis Cortez I loved the ambiance. The service was great super attentive especially for our first time here. We did the shabu for two which was a great option as our first time doing hot pot. The lamb and money bag were our favorite. I will say that the cooking the food yourself was something to get used to but glad we chose to try this new place out.

The Wooden Pearl - Anaheim

Rating: 4.5 /5
Minh Thai Have dinner here on Friday with my wife. The restaurant is at the bottom floor of the Anaheim Packing District. Very difficult to find parking. We used valet, its $9. The restaurant is very cozy, kind of rain forest theme, and its warm and very welcoming atmosphere. Food is outstanding. Very different. You can see the chef has a very creative mind and style. Portions are small but just enough. My wife had the swordfish and I had the chorizo and claim. We added an order of bread ( parker rolls) and it was enough food. Oh, I forgot we had the butter cake for dessert and it was very delicious . Their drinks are phenomenal also. This is a highly recommended place. Just valet your car and have a good time

The Midway - Santa Cruz

Rating: 4.7 /5
Benjamin Ow My wife and I just finished an incredible dinner at The Midway. The atmosphere was casual and inviting and the service was friendly and attentive. The food was the star of the show. The menu was relatively small, but there was a wide variety of dishes that were clearly carefully thought out and based on the freshest seasonal ingredients. We started out with the house made sourdough bread and butter. The four generous slices of bread were hearty, with a soft inside and thicker crust. Very tasty. Next we had the chicory salad which was reminiscent of a gourmet Caesar salad with the most beautiful chicory leaves imaginable, crunchy breadcrumbs, and finely grated Parmesan. Fantastic dish. Next we had homemade pappardelle with black trumpet and chanterelle mushrooms and shaved brussel sprouts. The flavors were very subtle, but the really scrumptious. The fresh and bright flavors shined through. Next we had the Mt. Lassen trout on chickpeas and butternut squash. The trout skin had a wonderful char and the flavors of the chickpeas and butternut squash really combined nicely. We finished with the braised beef dish on mashed potatoes with roasted carrots, mushrooms, and a salsa verde sauce. This dish blew us away. The beef was perfectly braised so it was super tender, extra flavorful, and not fatty at all. The mashed potatoes, roasted carrots and mushrooms paired perfectly with the beef and the salsa verde took the wonderful dish to a new level. In summary, this is the best meal we’ve had in Santa Cruz in a very long time. The quality of the ingredients and preparation was top notch and all of the dishes were reasonably priced. We can’t wait to go back again soon!
