W Nicola After a long, hot 250-mile motorcycle ride down from the Sierras, Cast Iron Grill & Bar was exactly what we needed. The vibe at the bar was relaxed and welcoming, with a great selection of beers on tap. My riding partner suggested the Michelob Ultra — ice cold, just the way you want it after a day in the sun. (Besides, as Billy Bob Thornton says, drinking Ultra is “not really drinking” — so we felt good about going for the 20 oz!)
The menu blew us away — more like a fine dining restaurant than your average bar and grill. We were torn on what to order until our server, Candace, raved about the bone-in pork chop with sautéed mushrooms. She was absolutely right. Between the perfectly cooked chop, the rich pan sauce, and the creamy puréed potatoes, this meal felt like a well-earned reward for the ride.
Candace’s recommendation made the night, and our dinner at Cast Iron Grill ended up being the highlight of our 1,500-mile trip. Highly recommended if you find yourself in the area!
