3 /5 Fady Jaber: George’s Steakhouse Bar & Grill has the kind of old‑school charm that makes you want to give it a fair shot, especially when you’re in town for work and craving something hearty. The service was friendly enough, and the atmosphere has that classic steakhouse feel, but the meal itself didn’t quite hit the mark. I ordered the ribeye medium‑well, and it arrived fully well‑done. While the steak wasn’t terrible—it still had decent flavor—the overcooking definitely took away from what could’ve been a richer, juicier experience. It’s the kind of thing that doesn’t ruin a meal but does leave you wishing the kitchen had paid a little closer attention. The coleslaw was… fine. Not offensive, not memorable, just there. A basic, middle‑of‑the‑road side that didn’t add much to the plate. Overall, George’s feels like a place with potential, but my visit landed squarely in “average” territory. With a bit more consistency in the kitchen, it could easily be better.

2 /5 Wylies Diesels: This place is definitely not a steakhouse but it definitely has the steakhouse pricing. Its unlike any steakhouse ive ever been too. Walked in, staff was friendly, went to the seating area and it felt like a very dated and worn taqueria from 15yrs ago. tons of open and wasted space, tables and booths were worn, seating was not very comfortable ordered some appetizers, the "nachos" looked like someone threw some chips on a plate and then tossed a lite helping of toppings onto them. was mostly chips I ordered prime rib and it was pretty bland very little flavor. other people in my party felt the food was so so. Ive gotten better steaks a lower end restaurants that cost far less. low key atmosphere, most of the liveliness was people at the bar watching sports.

5 /5 Harjot K: Everything about this place was amazing. Seriously the best steakhouse in Modesto! The staff was so friendly, I had asked if they made espresso martinis and they said it was the one thing they didn’t have and I said it’s okay no big deal. Then about 10 minutes later the waiter brought me one they made up with the fresh brewed coffee they had and it was probably the best one I’ve had! It was very sweet of them to make one and deliver it. The vibe was really nice and the food was amazing! We got the ribeye, rice and onion rings. Everything was a 10/10. Will be coming back here soon. Thank you for a lovely experience on our first visit here.

Adrian the owner goes above and beyond to make sure customers are satisfied! I appreciate that he keeps his promises especially the one he made me that they will always have my favorite... peanut butter screwball in stock And they always do. A feature I really love are hooks under the bar for our purses
