Ginger Noodle Bar - (Near Alpine, CA)

3 /5 Neil Howell: eaten here once, I may try again with something not noodles. this is am order at the entry, take a number, and they bring the food.....all at one time. note, and drinks, even water, is bottled. and pricey. place is clean, service pleasent. Food came fast (wasnt busy), hot, and looked good. I had Chicken Pad Thai and Lumpia. For a noodle bar....I would expect the noodles to be cooked right ....they were nearly mush and some were. flavor...mild at best. mild to low med heat. the amount of chicken was ok. sauce had nearly no flavor, watery, and very little....to be fair, given it was watery, you couldnt have much anyway. very little bean sprouts, and a lot of what I think was eggs...very particalized and the larger parts were mushy. It didnt taste bad...so 2 stars. Ive never had mushy pad Thai...have now. the noodles were falling apart just getting them with the fork. not sure chopsticks would have been able to pick any of it up. Lumpia ...was ok. egg roll size and wrapper, but had a decent amount of meat and a good flavor. main issue is Lumpia are not meat egg rolls.... borderline 3, leaning to 2....if I try a non-noodle dish I might revise. for me, a 2 means I would not eat there again. 1 would be leave and eat somewhere else.

4 /5 A.A: This location is inside the casino. The front desk employee was very friendly, greeting us & taking out orders. The orders here are done first. You pay and then self seat. They then bring the food to your table. Keep in mind it is not a table service restaurants there are no servers. We needed a few things like extra limes & to go boxes, we were willing to get ourselves no problem, but the employees on the floor made it feel like they absolutely did not want to help us. It was kinda awkward. Now about the food, it was very tasty big portions. The rice I didnt enjoy it was dry & stale. I had the lumpia for a started & a kung pao chicken type of dish. & mango pudding for the dessert. Keep in mind you orders first, then the comes all together start entree & dessert. To drink, I just had the free water at the casino. Nothing grabbed my attention on the menu. I really liked the inside & decor it was very modern, nice, warm lighting.

4 /5 Arthur Hameister: My son wanted to try this restaurant for his birthday. He had heard good things about the kalbi here, which was why he had this request. Overall, the restaurant is a comfortable place, and the atmosphere was relaxed, not fancy. To be honest, the Kalbi was a bit undercooked, and ribs were cut a bit thin. The walnut shrimp was outstanding. We ordered a 2nd dish of it and the Pad Thai combo dish was tastyl. Would come here again to eat, but request the kalbi be medium well instead of rare.

3 /5 My Le: Got here at 5:30pm on a Saturday. 20 min wait. There’s two registers. We knew what we wanted to order while we were in line, which made our check out so much quicker when we got to the counter. While the couple before us was still deciding on what to order when they got to the register. Tables are first come first serve and it was packed. There’s a line because the tables are full. But once we sat down, it took 10 mins to get our food. We got beef pho ($12) and beef Chinese drunken noodles ($15). My fiancé who is very particular with his pho and sensitive to msg, actually enjoyed the pho. He’s had it twice here and it was my first time. When the server brought the bowl out, I could smell the aroma. Then I took a sip of the broth and not bad. $12 price point is actually pretty good too. They also give a ton of noodles. It came with limes, bean sprouts and basil. We asked for an empty small bowl so that I could share. On the other hand, the drunken noodles were bland with no flavor. Basically just plain noodles and the chef forgot to add in oyster sauce and spices. I took it home and added spices myself. For water, they give out free mini Viejas water bottles. If you need take out containers, it’s on in the corner. Overall, don’t come during rush hour if you’re hungry. Otherwise, you’re expected to wait. Saw a lot of take out orders being prep too.
