Grove Steakhouse - (Near Alpine, CA)

5 /5 michael howem: If you havent been to the new Grove Steakhouse, you need to! Aside from being the best value in SoCal, its the most amazing food to be found. Its true that the high ceilings make it much more spacious feeling and some would say a bit less intimate, but it is also not nearly as loud as the old location which the makes it more intimate as far as Im concerned. The fireplaces really add to the ambiance and they have room for large parties now. The best addition is the weekend brunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Amazing! There isnt a bad option on the menu. Smoked salmon bagel with a twist or crab benedict or steak and eggs...you cant go wrong with the food. The bartenders (shout out to Kendall and Drew!) Margaritas, long islands, martinis, etc. are all super delicious and very reasonably priced. The servers and waitstaff (Joseph, Chuy, Anthony, and Alex) and all top shelf. Rafael, dont ever stop doing what you do! You run a tight ship, and your aim for perfection shows. Thank you all for showing up every day and showcasing your skills!

5 /5 Mitchel Scott: Took my girlfriend to Grove for our anniversary and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The staff was incredibly attentive, generous, and made the night feel truly special with extra treats just for us. Highly recommend checking this place out!

1 /5 S N: For a place that charges $50-$85 for a steak, I’d expect better quality food and service and for them to also make our steak correctly. My father-in-law ordered his steak medium, and it came out well done. We waited an hour for 2 entrees, 2 appetizers and a salad so we really didn’t want to wait even longer for them to remake the steak, so he just ate it anyway. I ordered steamed clams and there was barely any meat, and whatever meat there was, was so tiny. I could fit 3 pieces of clams on a fork. It was basically $22 for shells and broth. I complained to the manager twice. The 2nd time, he asked what I wanted him to do about it and I said take it off my bill. He reluctantly did so. When we were ready to go, we couldn’t find our waiter. We went to the host and asked if we could get our check and she said we had to wait for our waiter to bring it. It took over 20 mins to pay our bill and leave.

5 /5 Alice Murray: The waiter and all the staff were phenomenal. The food was amazing! We had the New York Steak and petite fillet mignon and lobster tail-all was cooked to perfection. The chocolate cake was beyond delicious.

5 /5 Fine Frenze: We had the most lovely Thanksgiving dinner here last night. It was a great value at $65/person for a three course meal. The butternut squash soup was rich and creamy with a beautiful swirl of crème friache. The entree was a roulade of white and dark meat turkey smothered in a sage- scented gravy, soft and buttery roasted Brussels sprouts, a herbaceous stuffing that was soft but not mushy and a sparkling cranberry accent that brought just the right touch of acid to an otherwise rich plate. The dessert was amazing ! Lucious ice cream, a pumpkin cheese cake tower with crispy sweet pastry. We had a cocktail, Maker’s Mark Manhattan, that was expertly prepared. It was 100% on point in preparation and taste with two preserved cherries. One of the best I’ve ever had and this is my normal drink order. Service was attentive but not intrusive and we were seated promptly at our reservation time. If I had one complaint, one must walk through the smoky casino to get to this lovely oasis of calm and elegance in the Viejas casino. Reservations are a must.
