Habana Cuba Restaurant - (Near San Jose, CA)

1 /5 RachelinFL: I just got an order delivered from here and calling this a Cuban sandwich is a joke. The bread doesn’t resemble Cuban bread at all, and the inside of the bread was burnt (real Cubans are buttered on the outside and pressed…the inside of the bread doesn’t touch a griddle). The roasted pork was dry. The black beans were bland. They tasted like they had been poured straight out of a can and had no seasoning added.

1 /5 Evangelina Trujeque: I’ve been to Habana Cuba before with no issue, but today was a completely different experience. The restaurant inside the bingo hall was open during business hours, yet when I went to place my order, the woman at the counter (I believe her name is Morgan) told me they weren’t taking any more orders because they were “too busy filling current ones.” She was rude when saying it but I understood and walked away, but within five minutes I watched her take an order from a man and then proceed to take several more right in front of me. It was frustrating and disappointing to be treated that way when they were clearly still operating. Definitely not the kind of customer service I expected.

2 /5 E. M.: This food establishment is located in the SoFA Market food court. We came here on a Sat afternoon, there were plenty of seats both inside and out. I was really looking forward on trying this restaurant being that I am a fan of cuban cuisine. We tried several dishes spending about $60. We ordered the tamal cubano with lechon, sandwich cubano, ropa vieja, rabo encendido and flan. The ropa vieja and rabo encendido came with white rice, black beans and platano maduro. The flavors of both dishes were okay, though the oxtail was soft and tender. Sauces were thinner and more on the blander side. The tamal cubano wasnt my favorite, I felt the lechon lacked flavor. I did enjoy their cubano, the flavors were good except that the bread (although it looked toasted) was soft at first bite. I was definitely missing the crunch factor. Sad to say that their flan was the absolute worst flan Ive ever had. If I knew what insant flan tasted like, I would assume that it would taste just like that. The flan was more gelatin vs tasting like it was made out of eggs and milk. It was bland and the sauce tasted like it was watered down caramel. Never would I ever suggest their flan to anyone. It was quite disappointing. All in all, I dont think Ill be eating at Habana Cuba in the future, a very big disappointment for me.

5 /5 Debbie Cusic: Tidy little place serving delicious food. We had a sampler appetizer platter. All will well prepared and delicious. The garlic sauce is the bomb. The shrimp in garlic was generous portion. The tostones were perfectly caramelized not burnt. Thoroughly enjoyed a delicious meal. Its a food court area so different tastes can be explored. And theres a bar a few steps away should you wish for a beer with your meal. Good enough to go back and explore more.
