Jeremy Cowin We had to pivot at the last minute after the restaurant we originally planned on was closed, and we ended up at M & M Ranch. I’m glad we did — we were not disappointed.
Our group started with the clam chowder, and it was excellent. Rich, creamy, and clearly made right. The salad bar was simple but fresh and well maintained.
The real star, though, was the burgers. We ordered the Chief Burger and the Ringer Burger, and I immediately understood how this place was voted Best Burger in Tehama County. The combination of BBQ sauce, onion rings, cheese, and bacon was outstanding. Big, well-cooked burgers done right.
I did see one review mention that the burgers were “expensive.” This isn’t McDonald’s. Were they a little pricey? Yes. Were they amazing? Absolutely. Worth every penny. If you want fast-food prices, go to a fast-food place.
Service was excellent, and you can tell this is a well-run, family-owned restaurant. The place was very clean and clearly managed with care.
The only small negative was that it was surprisingly dark outside — possibly a lighting issue — but don’t let that stop you. If you drive by without stopping, you’ll miss a real treat. We’ll definitely be back next year when we’re in town for the holidays.
