La Carreta Mexican Restaurant - (Near Alpine, CA)

Professional Reviewer Yet another good restaurant in a county with limited options that is staring down the barrel of a gun wielded by the totalitarian governor of this state and his mandate that he save our lives from something that never threatened us. But he will save us, even if it means killing us. The place was dead on the day I went, barely surviving with a couple staff handling primarily take out orders. Rumor is that supply issues due to the response to the “pandemic” is threatening their menu in the coming week. The salsa was good; a little heavy on the acid and light on salt and cilantro. The cabbage was good; a little heavy on the chilies and light on cilantro. I had the burrito grande. The pork was tender and flavorful. The rice and beans were of good quality. The pico was properly balanced and not used as an overwhelming filler. My only problem was perhaps a slight under saucing of the salsa verde. The service was good overall, with an attentive staff. SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL RESTAURANTS!

Clara H. Connolly Happy Garden is a fantastic Chinese restaurant with truly excellent food! Every dish we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The portions were generous, and the flavors were authentic, from the savory stir-fries to the rich, comforting soups. The service was quick and friendly, making the dining experience even better. If you’re craving delicious Chinese cuisine, Happy Garden is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommend!

Sarah Young If I could give this place 10 stars I would. Hands down best breakfast place I had. I got the Karen potatoes with no cheese. The potatoes where crispy, eggs were perfect, staff was friendly and attentive (even though it was super busy). The ice tea was so good too. Anyone who knows me knows Im picky on ice tea and this one was fantastic. It tasted like maybe a chi tea. Very good. If I lived by here, I would be there every weekend.

Lailian Park We saw they have amazing google reviews, just casually visiting. We had great brunch,all of the servers were awesome and welcoming. We asked for their signature menu and dessert, one of our servers explained all the details of the restaurant menu ! The corned beef sandwich was huge big. All the layers of the beef looked cool,juicy and tasty! Make sure you request the fresh crunch cucumber pickles and cabbage pickles with the corned beef(no additional charge)

Cassidy This is an amazing affordable buffet experience. I was only passing through the area but if I lived here I would go all the time! All the stations were well kept, food was rotated frequently, counters were kept clean, and the servers were very attentive and quick to clear dishes from the table. There are so many different food options here and everything was tasty, high quality ingredients prepared well. For $15-20/head, it doesn’t get much better than this.
