1 /5 K B: Dish reviewed: BBQ Bison Meatloaf
Drinks: Pomegranate Sour Fauxtini, Cold Brew Carajillo, Strawberry Jalapeño Mockarita
From the very first visual impression, the BBQ Bison Meatloaf was deeply disappointing. The presentation lacked any culinary intention what arrived at the table was shapeless, unstructured, and visually unappealing. The bison itself had an off-putting texture and an unpleasant flavor that overshadowed the entire dish.
The side dishes failed to redeem the plate. The spinach was severely overcooked, reduced to a lifeless, watery mass with no remaining identity or freshness. The only element that worked was the mashed potatoes, which were smooth, properly seasoned, and comforting. The added French fries were also acceptable crispy and well-fried but the onion rings were greasy, heavy, and frankly inedible.
As for the mocktails, the experience was equally underwhelming:
• The Pomegranate Sour Fauxtini was the only drink that was remotely enjoyable.
• The Cold Brew Carajillo tasted diluted and forgettable.
• The worst of all was the Strawberry Jalapeño Mockarita, which was aggressively unbalanced, watery, and unpleasant, with the jalapeño completely overpowering the drink in the worst possible way.
This was not simply a flawed dish it was a failure in execution, balance, and respect for ingredients. The bison, which should be the star, was mishandled beyond recovery.
This dish does not meet even meet solid casual dining standards.
