Little Oven Pizza - (Near Merced, CA)

5 /5 Jay Wu: Located in the quaint downtown of Merced, the little oven is dishing out the only New York style pizza in a 60 mile radius. Personally drove from Fresno to try it because somebody mentioned it on social media and I’m glad we did. It is quite good. Pizza is super thin. The undercarriage is cooked great and there’s no flop at all.

5 /5 Alina T: The BEST pizza place in the area, hands down. They serve thin crust, New York style pizza, and it’s delicious. I have been going to them for the past 6 years, and they don’t miss. Their flavors are so unique, sometimes they can sound odd, but I promise, they always make it work and it tastes amazing. They have 2 specials everyday and they rotate them (pesto bango is my all time favorite).This is a great spot to pop in for lunch or quick dinner grab a slice or 2 and it’ll only cost you about $5 per slice (they are large slices). A couple tips: There isn’t a ton of seating inside so could be difficult if you have a large group. If you want to order whole pizzas, you have to call in advance and secure your time slot that you want to pick them up. I’ve done this multiple times and they have always been ready for my time with no issues. I don’t believe they have any gluten-free options, but they have great vegetarian options.

5 /5 Mel I: The food, the people who work there, the vibes - phenomenal! I love how every day they have a different type of red and white sauce. Im honestly so surprised of how much I love some of their flavors that I never thought I would go for. Who would have thought that putting broccoli on a pizza would taste sooo amazing?! Their Sun King, Broc, Rucola, and so many more that I cant remember all of their names - all sooo good. Ive been here wayyy too many times to count now. Always tastes amazing!

4 /5 J M: Good place if your looking just for a slice or two. The place inside is a bit small inside but have the option of outside tables. Limited options per slice but if you get a pie you can customize it. The pizza was good with thin layer of crust but a bit oily. If all you want simple pizza by the slice this is the place in Merced.

Pistachio Pizza: The Pistachio Pizza was on a completely different level—nothing like I’ve ever tasted before. Initially, I was skeptical when the staff mentioned it was one of their specials, but once I took a bite, I couldn’t stop. The pistachios brought a rich, earthy flavor that paired surprisingly well with the other ingredients, creating a one-of-a-kind pizza experience. It’s definitely worth trying if you’re looking for something adventurous and unique. Service: The service was excellent. The staff were incredibly helpful, understanding, and made great recommendations. They were attentive and genuinely seemed to care about giving us a great experience, which added to the overall enjoyment of the meal. Ambience: The ambience is more like a bar vibe—relaxed but with a lively energy. It’s a nice space to hang out, but it can get pretty noisy, especially during peak hours, so it might not be the best place if you’re looking for a quiet dinner. However, the overall feel is pleasant, and the atmosphere adds to the experience. Wait Time & Slices: One thing to keep in mind is that the pizza slices are first come, first served. The wait times and lines can be really long, so it’s best to plan ahead if you’re in a hurry. For some of the pizzas, the staff even recommended ordering early in the morning for a night pickup, which might sound like a joke, but it’s definitely necessary if you want to avoid long waits. Overall, Little Oven Pizza has some of the most unique and flavorful pizzas I’ve ever had, along with great service and a lively ambience. Just be prepared for the wait, and plan ahead if you’re aiming for a specific pizza!
