3 /5 Kirk Earl: While the food was better than I expected, the service was well below what I would want from a restaurant.
We went on a Sunday at lunchtime, and the restaurant was pretty empty. We went to ask for a table and were told that we’d be seated in 2-3 minutes. We waited quite a bit longer than that. Eventually, a waitress who appeared to be in training got us to a table. It felt like we had to wait unusually long amounts of time between every service; it was also frustrating to have the bread only come nearly half an hour after we were seated (we probably would have been much more patient as the bread was very tasty). I think we had three separate waiters during the lunch.
The appetizers (avocado egg rolls and chicken dumplings) were both tasty; the dumplings had a delicious Asian flavor that I did not expect from this restaurant. The Louisiana chicken pasta was massive. We shared it and still had enough for both of us to have lunch the following day. The flavor had a good heat, and the chicken was deliciously crispy. Finally, we tried a non-cheesecake chocolate cake, and it was also delicious. The frosting was very flavorful, but it wasn’t too rich.
In summary, while the food was good and actually exceeded my expectations, the service was far below what I would have anticipated.
