Fox Tale Fermentation Project - San Jose

Rating: 4.9 /5
Michela Dellolio We very much enjoyed the incredible vegan menu, the fermented foods and beers, such a welcoming and cool find in downtown San Jose! The soup of the week was full of flavors and hearty and came with Firebrand sourdough bread. Will definitely come back with friends in the evening!

CARNITAS EL LINSE - Calexico

Rating: 3 /5
jorge Garcia Unfortunately, my first visit to this place was a mixed bag. The service was mediocre, not very good. They took a long time to deliver my order, even though there was only one customer ahead of me. They delivered an order to the table next to me late, apologizing for the delay, but the worst part was that while I waited for my order, oh no! It wasnt what I ordered. I told the cashier about the mistake, and she and the cook got angry. He started arguing with the cashier, saying thats what I ordered in a negative and unfriendly tone, looking at me with disgust. I refused to let the cashier change the order because he insisted he had already delivered my order to someone else, since there was no one else there after I ordered. It was quite uncomfortable. I had to go back to my table, find the receipt, and go back to the cashier to show her what I had ordered. I also showed it to the cook, who got even more upset; I could see it on his face. For a moment, I considered leaving and asking for a refund since I didnt enjoy the meal because of the unpleasant experience. They should train and hire reliable and dedicated customer service staff. There seems to be a lack of teamwork, and that hurts us as customers. Its a shame its nothing like the Mexicali branch. Ill think twice before going back there. Its a shame about such a new concept in the area.

Catch 25 - Hollister

Rating: 4.6 /5
Stacey Mattish This restaurant just opened on July 4, and if my experience tonight is any example of the future, this place is a wonderful addition to Hollister! They have redone the inside with an aqua blue and fish - truly delightful. Thw food was absolutely delicious and the portions, generous. The prices are refreshing in this time of overpriced everything. I hope that they are here to stay for many generations!

The Corner Kitchen - Concord

Rating: 4.8 /5
Melanie Standig Havent heard of The Corner Kitchen? Youre missing out! Great food- even better prices. Chef Sal and Chef Aj are always cooking up amazing dishes, and Johnny makes everyone feel like a regular. I love the wedge salad, beef & brie slider, shrimp skewers, and garlic fries and their specials are always chefs kiss. Now that theyre open for brunch on Sunday its my fave place to watch a game, cry about my fantasy team and eat their delicious Bourbon Apple French Toast with crispy bacon and a cranberry pineapple mimosa Brunch goes till 2, so even if you sleep in, youre good. Concord needed a spot like this -- must try!

Benny and Marys - Irvine

Rating: 4.4 /5
Cap10Bill Nortman Jake was connected with all the guests. Present, personable, and smoothly in control behind the bar. The Delahunt Overcast IPA poured a cloudy bronze with a lemony, lightly hopped kick. The Karl Strauss Tower X was my favorite. Golden, smooth, not too carbonated, with a crisp bitter finish that sparked something young and sharp. The crispy pork belly came in huge perfect chunks. Crackling outside, tender inside. Paired with broccolini, a poached egg, and my first take on polenta, every bite was sweet, savory, spicy. An adventure in flavors and textures. The space is beautiful and stylish. Lamps and lighting add their own charm. The hockey game is on, and if you know where to look, theres a private event room that just might transform into a speakeasy. Plenty of parking right out front free with validation, being your ticket.

Press Quesadilla Grill - San Luis Obispo

Rating: 4.9 /5
Mai Finally, a local place for great quesadilla, burrito, build your own bowl with plenty parkings - close to California market. They have the same proteins as Chipotle, with four different kinds of delicious sauces. We ordered the quesadilla, and it was huge, tasty, crunchy, and served in a nice recycled box. Very reasonable price. The service is very fast with happy, friendly staff. There are plenty of sitting areas with large windows and high ceilings. Great job, press! Definitely recommend.
