4 /5 Mick Dunn: Mango Haus in Bakersfield, located within the Best Western Plus Hill House hotel, is an elegant and classy restaurant where you can find a nice breakfast for a reasonable price; not cheap, but part of what you pay for here is the aesthetics. I felt like the service was quite slow but otherwise the experience was very good.

5 /5 Samantha Kitchen: The food is SO good! The waiter told us everything is made there from scratch, including things like their pancake syrup. I got the pancakes which are gluten-free, soy-free, and vegan. They were incredible! My daughter -who has no allergies and can eat whatever she wants- tried them and said they were great. She got the breakfast burrito and said it was wonderful. The waiter was fantastic and very knowledgeable. about all the ingredients. Thank you for the best breakfast Ive had in a LONG time!

5 /5 Matthew Futter: While this place was so popular for Sunday brunch that we had to wait a few minutes to be seated, it was well worth our patience! The seating combines comfy benches behind most tables and chairs on the middle “walking” side, and the layout of the dining area was easy to navigate. Best recommended for groups of 4 or less, so you can hear each other talk. The interior was fresh and appealing, but the space was loud with the full crowd when we stopped in. The staff here was friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious! Our group of 3 ordered an appetizer to share, 3 main dishes, and 3 mixed drinks to celebrate a birthday. Everything was terrific, and the Oaxacan Nachos were so generously heaped that we ran out of room trying to eat everything (along with our mains, of course)! Fairly priced for a modern restaurant and with MANY options for every palate (and clearly-labeled vegetarian fare if you like that), we found plenty to enjoy and look forward to our next visit.

The vibe hits you the moment you walk in — bright, stylish, and welcoming (the vintage phone booth and big mirror are such cool touches). We’ve ordered a variety of dishes and every one has been a hit. The tropical fruit bowl was as beautiful as it was delicious — fresh pineapple, berries, mango, and pomegranate with a smooth base that felt light yet satisfying. The guacamole with chips and pickled onions was packed with flavor and freshness, and the patatas bravas were perfectly crispy with a rich, bold sauce. The chilaquiles, topped with a fried egg and avocado, were full of flavor and paired with beans and a fresh mango pico — an absolute standout. Service has always been friendly and attentive, and you can tell there’s real care behind both the food and the atmosphere. Bakersfield really needed a place like this — creative, fresh, and full of heart. Highly recommend Mango Haus for breakfast, brunch, or just a relaxing bite with friends.

She was incredibly kind and took the time to ask about my dietary restrictions. She even whipped up a special dish in the back just for me, without sacrificing protein intake! The level of care, attentiveness, and genuine hospitality is outstanding. It’s rare to find service like this! Huge thank you to Karen and the team for being so accommodating. I highly recommend this place!
