Merced Grand Buffet - (Near Merced, CA)

3 /5 Shaica Kamille Espina: This was the only buffet still open that we were able to find in Merced after driving out of Yosemite National Park via the 140. We read the mixed reviews that came from 4-8 years ago so we came with fingers crossed. We came as a party of 17 and we were able to call ahead and request a table. They were not busy when we were there on a Sunday night around 7pm. Our party also had mixed views on the food but everyone agreed that it was nice to have at least a few options to see what they could possibly like. I think most of the food tastes pretty much like other Chinese buffets. But there isnt as many choices as other buffets were used to. Foods I Liked or Found Okay -Menudo - It reminded us of a Filipino dish called "balbacua". -Orange Chicken -Coconut Shrimp -Fried Fish with Tartar Sauce -Fried Shrimp -Salt & Pepper Fried Squid -Baby Octopus Dish -Chicken Broccoli -Green Beans -Fried Rice -Chow Mein -Salt and Pepper Crabs and Shrimp -Hot & Sour Soup -Wonton Soup We didnt come across any hygiene issues during our visit.

1 /5 Sierra Hose: If I could give this place zero stars I would I used to come here with my husband as a regular date night place the entire vibe here has changed and has been ruined the owner came and harassed my family in the parking lot because my husband is Mexican and the owner seems to judge people who are of different races than he is. The owner was aggressive and belligerent for no reason at all we came to spend money to feed our family and didnt even get past the past the parking lot. Then I come read reviews to see that its probably good we didnt go in because they also serve cold food that has been out too long. This type of behavior is unacceptable and honestly very sad I would not come eat here if you want a good experience with acceptable food.

5 /5 Robin Sprague: The food was just cooked fresh hot. The service was excellent the employees are very nice and helpful. It has a great atmosphere theres always room and I would suggest this place to anyone.

1 /5 50kk__: Most of the food was served cold, very cold. I spent $20 only to have my night ruined. On certain nights, they’ll actually put effort into serving hot food, but consistency clearly isn’t a priority. Unless it’s a busy weekend when they’re motivated to provide decent service, I wouldn’t recommend coming here, might run risk of even getting sick. disappointed.
