1 /5 Dr. Hawkins: The service was fine. The cashier/owner was very welcoming. Here is my review of the food. The fish was not well seasoned. It was very bland. The greens were extremely overcooked and very, very salty. The yams were prepared in a very thick sauce that tasted like molasses. Next, I confirm with a previous reviewer that having people sitting in the kitchen is not a good look, especially allowing them to sample the food that is being prepared to "see if it taste okay." My final stray was when I observed a staff worker who was sitting at the table get up and go to the back kitchen area were food was being prepared and handle products without washing his hands. That was enough for me. I am a big fan of supporting local businesses. Olivers Fish House really needs to look at ways to change their presentation or they will loose customers. I wont even address the aesthetics of the building. This is not a place I will return to or recommend.

Family members not working were going in and out of the kitchen.One of them wasnt representing the family with class by sagging showing undies.The atmosphere was classles. The lady cooking had a lot on her hands and she needed much help so I cant blame her for the hour wait I totaly understand she was doing her best.My advice is to shape up the atmosphere secure the kitchen to working staff only! Traveled to many fish houses and this one wasnt what I thought! I didnt do a social media review only because im not one to tare down a black owned business I rather just leave my honest opinon!

1 /5 Sandra Courtney-Sims: Food is decent but do NOT dine-in! Took almost an hour and a half to get fries and 5 wings and 5 pieces of snapper. No one said anything, acted like it was only 15 minutes. Omg! Never again. Cant with black folks. Love em but I just cant!

2 /5 Corie Irving: It was really great being able to go to a Soulfood place that was not too far for me. The only issue with the food was that I asked for catfish, but I received tilapia. I asked for a two piece meal initially and a seven piece fish, and five piece prawn, which came up to $40 for both orders. I decided to make it a family meal which was $3 more! I received about 20 pieces of fish, which was tilapia NOT CATFISH (4) oysters, a small green , one small Mac and Cheese (5) prawns. The greens were pretty tasty but the fish was absolutely bland no salt whatsoever. I don’t know if I would recommend this place to any of my friends, but everyone has their own opinion on what they like. Based on my experience, I don’t think that I would go back again.
