4 /5 T V: This used to be our go-to breakfast spot in Sonora, Im talking once or twice a week for years. After the new owners took over, I expected the same level of quality and service, of course. However, something was off on that first visit? So we didnt go back for months. Recently, I gave it another shot, and yep, its just not as good. Not that its "bad" by any means, but there were little details that missed the mark for me. Both of our breakfast orders were swimming in oil, making a reasonably portioned meal too heavy to finish in one go. Unfortunately, it was so greasy, I couldnt even stomach the leftovers later. Such a shame since the prices werent exactly cheap. Sausage was a weird soft hot dog texture, and coffee only topped off once right at the beginning. Table wasnt the right size for one of the booths, we had to move to another for more room. And the waiter was friendly enough, but started our visit off in a joking yet curt manner, which felt out of place and honestly caught me off guard. Nice person Im sure, but vibe was odd.
That being said, the biscuits and gravy were PHENOMENAL. Even after all that, I would go back just for those. I dont know what it was, but man those were perfect. Ill give this place another shot some day.
