Tay Ho Oakland Restaurant & Bar - Oakland

Rating: 4.5 /5
Anne This is one of my favorite Vietnamese places in Oakland- food is delicious, service is excellent, and interior is nice. Would be good for a cute little date night. My favorite appetizer to get is the Banh Khot. Absolutely yummy! It’s crispy and has just the right amount of coconut and flavor. I’ve been here multiple times and it’s something I always order. I don’t think i’ve had anything bad from this place. Their drinks are really good as well. It’s a bit on the pricey side for Viet food, but it’s well worth for the taste and quality. Parking is on the street and I typically don’t have an issue finding something nearby.

William Evanusich Wow! I cant believe I never wrote a review for this place! I have eaten here countless times since it opened. I have NEVER had a bad experience here! The food is amazing, unique and well prepared. I fell in love with their steak teriyaki bowls here. And their burgers are first rate as well, even though the patties are on the small side. Also their deserts and home made sourdough breads are "to die for". The staff is always friendly and professional, even the cooks who run the food out are very courteous and always ask if you need anything else before they head back to the kitchen, a very nice and welcome touch to the dynamic of this place that just may be the key to this places success! You do have to bus your own table, but hey, thats okay. This place is a bit pricy if you are on a small budget, but if money is no object, this is the place for you!

sean killian You must go to this restaurant the food is delicious. Eat in because if you don’t you will not get the full experience, the food without doubt but you must experience Edna (The Incredibles) she is the fiery front of house server / waitress / phone order taker. She is the best part of the restaurant she makes us feel inferior and exhilarated all at the same time. God Bless Her.

Linda’s Seabreeze Café - Santa Cruz

Rating: 4.7 /5
Natalie Caldwell Simple, quaint, stellar Santa Cruz establishment. For the breakfast lovers, this spot is for you. For the ones that prefer lunch instead, just come after 11am and you’re good. MASSIVE portions, great food and flavor. Can’t say enough good things. Get there early I f you want to make sure you can snag one of the many specials - they’re fantastic, and popular! So they go quickly on a Saturday morning. Highly recommend the Combo Pancake platter (comes with two pancakes, bacon, and a plate of eggs), any of their omelettes, and the tuna melt is great. I got the side salad with the sandwich which was a meal in itself. Come hungry! Important notes - Cash only (they have an ATM), so don’t come slinging a credit card or Apple Pay. They also don’t take reservations, but the tables turnover quickly and they have both inside and outside seating (which is heated!).

Good places like this need to be known

Cast Iron Grill & Bar - Suisun City

W Nicola After a long, hot 250-mile motorcycle ride down from the Sierras, Cast Iron Grill & Bar was exactly what we needed. The vibe at the bar was relaxed and welcoming, with a great selection of beers on tap. My riding partner suggested the Michelob Ultra — ice cold, just the way you want it after a day in the sun. (Besides, as Billy Bob Thornton says, drinking Ultra is “not really drinking” — so we felt good about going for the 20 oz!) The menu blew us away — more like a fine dining restaurant than your average bar and grill. We were torn on what to order until our server, Candace, raved about the bone-in pork chop with sautéed mushrooms. She was absolutely right. Between the perfectly cooked chop, the rich pan sauce, and the creamy puréed potatoes, this meal felt like a well-earned reward for the ride. Candace’s recommendation made the night, and our dinner at Cast Iron Grill ended up being the highlight of our 1,500-mile trip. Highly recommended if you find yourself in the area!
