Angelina Quiroz My husband is from Honduras, so we love finding places that serve authentic Honduran food. We live in Modesto, so driving all the way to San Francisco for Honduran food is always a mission, that’s why we’re so happy to have La Frontera in Hayward, which is about an hour closer and absolutely worth the drive!
We usually order the Pollo Frito with fried bananas, and it is so delicious, crispy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. I also highly recommend the traditional baleada, the handmade flour tortillas are soft, fresh, and full of that authentic homemade flavor. Our little one loves them too!
If you’re in the mood for something refreshing, try the maracuyá (passion fruit) juice. It’s fresh, tropical, and bursting with flavor. And if you prefer something classic, the banana-flavored soda, Tropical, is the bomb!
Those are honestly the only two dishes we’ve tried so far, but everything I’ve seen come out of the kitchen looks amazing. The food is always full of flavor and never disappoints.
If you’re craving real Honduran food and don’t want to make the long trip to San Francisco or San Jose, La Frontera is the perfect spot. Delicious food, friendly service, and a taste of home just an hour closer!
